The money Alabama is using to pay Nick Saban comes from many sources. They have boosters that are willing to write a check to buy-out contracts of coaches they no longer want. They have boosters willing to put money into a FedEx envelope and make sure it gets to the "must-have" recruit (at least I think that was Alabama, may ave been some other SEC institution). In addition, my guess is Saban is allowed to make his own shoe deal with Nike, adidas, or Converse and gets to keep all of the money. His radio and television shows add up to quite an amount as well.falconboy wrote:How does Alabama get like 8 mill to pay whats-his-face to coach their basketball team. That money can't be coming from the general Athletic Dept. fund. Plus, I'm there has to be donors/boosters that are giving money specifically to keep their football program at a high level.
Your $29 for season tickets to women's basketball wouldn't even get you in the gate at 'bama for a football game (but you may be able to park your car a little closer to the stadium).
