UC ready to name their coach

Post by HoustonFalcon »

Very close sources tell me that UC is going to name Kelly Hall from UL Lafayete their new coach within the next couple of days. They are going to pay him either 150 or 200,000, which is more than he and his wife both make at Lafayete combined. He took ULL to the tournament this year after finishing second in the Sun Belt. He is a really good coach and is fun to talk to. I am on the record as saying that Curt Miller will not be going anywhere this next year, and probably not in the next couple.

Thanks for the info. I agree -- Miller's not going anywhere, and he never was.

Sweet. Now we need to pay him accordingly.

And congrats to Coach Hall. I would think there would be more money involved, but what the hell do I know?

I am coming around to your point of view, J4H and HoustonFalcon. Miller may stay, and that would be great.

It's been officially named today. It's on their website.

Michigan hasn't filled their position yet.

My cousin's girlfriend's dog's former owner's sister who works in the AD said they're still going to hire him.

Yes, thank the Lord. :prayer: It appears we will have Miller for at least one more year. Hip Hip Horray!! :smt026 \:D/ :smt041
This hiring doesn't affect the probability of Miller being here next year at all. He was never even a candidate.

me thinks Curt will be at BG for at least the next 3 seasons. Maybe 2 if this class turns out to be even better than the class that is graduating this year (please don't rip my head off for suggesting that...i have heard too many times that this incoming class might be ready for a Sweet 16 run in just 2 years.....I hear it enough, from various people, and I start to believe it a bit.).

So.....having an on-campus interview at UC doesn't qualify him as a candidate?

I would say it does. I am just glad they passed on Curt for whatever reason and that is one less place for him to leave for.

Fingers crossed we don't see him in any releases like the one released by Cincinnati today.

Got anything in print about that interview?

Don't know about UC, but here's Miller's name surfacing (with half a dozen others) for the Washington gig:

There's no doubt that we will see Coach Miller's name on more lists before this year is through. But I don't really see him going anywhere. I could be mistaken, crazier things have happened. But I am again on the record as saying that Curt Miller will be roaming the sidelines for BGSU again next year. The Washington job scares me a little bit only in the fact that it on the west coast, and I think that he liked it out there when he was there. That is the only thing that scares me about his name with that job. But I still think that it's a non-issue in my book.
