How the Other Half Lives in Women's Basketball

Post by Rollo83 »

We are worried about trying to get Curt Miller's salary to respectability by MAC standards and the three Tennessee assistant coaches each just got a Mercedes Roadster as a bonus for winning the title.

Exactly. And when he does, University Honda is sure to be right there with brand new Accords for the whole staff!

I havent researched this yet so I might be way off base, but I'm pretty sure they won't actually own the vehicles. That Mercedes dealership is probably giving them the Benz's to drive for a year or two on a lease deal. And come on....An Accord.....You would think those cheap bastards would atleast offer up an Element!! :D

Now how's that Element for an incentive. You just won a national championship. You now get the ugliest vehicle ever invented. Enjoy your new box.

It's not a lease deal and the University of Tennessee has no involvement in this deal. Pat Summitt purchased the vehicles out of her own pocket as gifts for her assistant coaches. The coaches own the cars lock, stock, and barrell.

I have to admit. I saw a Scion in a wreck the other day, and I was secretly smiling.

USA Today said Pat Summitt's contract included a $250,000 bonus for winning the tournament, so she can probably afford the Mercedes, with Elements and Fits to spare.
