I like the message this sends, and the raise is very deserved based on performance and attention the University has received because of this team.
If Miller can continue performing like this through his current contract, he may very well be rewarded with a "super-job" somewhere.
I'm glad that he'll be here for the forseeable future.

Good Job AD Christopher...............
For not screwing this up. Miller certainly deserves to be the highest paid coach in BG athletics. Wish it was more than Roller's when WE won the Mac not her or BSU , but oh well. This got your attention all Men's coaches? It should , now lets get our men's sports out of the gutter for petes sake.

He does a great job, and you still come out here and sling s**t at him. Take it easy on the guy.falconboy wrote:For not screwing this up. Yeah right girl!
Oorah!

Again, there's a big reason BG can't pay Miller the same as Roller at BSU and that would be hockey.
Get off Christopher's back falconboy.

Miller was offered the head coaching position at Cincinnati in late March and turned it down.

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Also, for CLindsay16's benefit: I didn't doubt that Cincinnati would approach Miller. That made sense to me.
My doubt was that he would consider it a job worth accepting.
Anyway, this is great news. It sends a lot of good messages -- one of them being, if you do exceptional work here in Bowling Green, you will be rewarded.
I'm glad the administration dug deep. Seems to me Christopher has made two excellent personnel decisions this month.

I agree completely with this. I was very quick to jump on Christopher regarding the fball scheduling mess. That aside, he has performed very well and his bball staffing decisions are proof of that.Schadenfreude wrote: Seems to me Christopher has made two excellent personnel decisions this month.
I responded to Grant's blog entry that I'm going to lay off of Christopher.....for a day or so.

(By the way, I think we actually agreed on something earlier in this thread!)
Do you believe me now that it isn't a better job than BG for Curt Miller?

Coach Miller e-mailed me earlier in the week (actually he was responding to a note I had sent him). He wanted everyone to know that he turned down the UC job because it was not the right fit. He enjoys being at BGSU and is very excited about next year and the incoming class.Warthog wrote:Check out this tidbit from today's Sentinel story about his extension:

And thanks to AD Christopher for rewarding him for his 124 wins!

The next step is to hire a full-time Director of Basketball Operations and pay the tuition for a couple GA's.
Curt always says how Brandi Poole coordinates the team travel, and while all indications are that she does an excellent job at it, those duties shouldn't be the responsibility of an assistant coach.
BTW, the men's program should also hire their own Director of Basketball Operations and/or Video Coordinator.
