I think Art Furman handled administrative and video duties for the men. They had one more staffer than the women's team.

You know, I hadn't checked or done any math, but I wondered if that's where that "$124" at the end of his salary came from...

Well, my "suggestion" that BG DOUBLE his salary didn't happen, but it seems that the money and he are in agreement...and that's the only thing that counts. Hopefully, his assistants will also be rewarded for their efforts and the TEAM of coaches stays together.
BTW, someone alluded to his turning down an offer from Cincy...I heard from a pretty reliable source a week or so ago that he'd turned down TWO jobs...Don't know what the other job was, but it seems that Curt meant it when he said he's happy here...with the new recruits coming in, he and his staff will have a great deal of teaching/coaching to do...but a seemingly very talented group of kids to work with.

Furman? Did someone say Furman?!?!?!

Glad to see they are putting that extra payoff from next year's MSU FB game to good use (no sarcasm intended)

Expect an announcement of a new hire to take the position of Director of Basketball operations for the women's team in the next couple of weeks. I hear it was part of his negotiations on a new deal.

I think doubling his salary was not only totally appropriate, but a strong message to send to future coaches and others as has been said. We may yet lose Miller in the future, he surely has earned the right to move on to the right job. However, when that day comes, the next coach will know they are coming to a school that will treat a coach right.

Also, I would also say that fans of womens basketball throughout the conference, as well as the other coaches, should all stand and cheer this as well. What Miller has done at BGSU, especially with the oldest and least modern facility in the MAC, gives all boosters, fans, coaches, and administrators ammunition to demand and expect more.

In truth, I wasn’t sure the womens game in the MAC was going to rebound after what I considered to be a lull in progress. For a time, it seemed like the major conference pass the MAC by and seemed beyond catching. Miller closed the gap far faster than I’d have ever thought possible.
