Scorer table ads

Post by WBBFAN »

I was surprised to see the BG Bookstore ad with the new Falcon logo in red on the new scorer's table advertisements. I actually felt uncomfortable seeing our logo in red and black. I'm not in advertising, but I am pretty sure that a big part of branding is making sure your logo keeps it's integrity by appearing the same every time.

I thought the same thing at the men's exhibition. I thought I was looking at a Miami (OH) ad for a second.

Really wish I could have come tonight, but work commitments kept me away.

I think that they are using red so that the ad stands out. if it were orange then it would just blend in with everything else in the arena. and brown would too dull by itself.

You're probably right svillefalcon, but I think whoever made that decision needs to go back to marketing school. I wonder what the reaction would have been if they had made it blue and gold? That would also have "popped" and drawn attention.

My opinion - DON'T MESS WITH THE BIRD!

IF that is the case then they need to reed the University's style guide. Generally style guides prohibit the altering of any official logo elements including color!

Nope. The company that produced the ad, used the wrong color and Athletics has requested a new ad. It just hasn't come in yet (I sat with Jane Meyers at the volleyball match on Sunday and she texted (?) the marketing guys when we noticed it).

Thats good news transfer!
They might also stop into the BG on Main store, and pull the post cards with the BGSU marching band with red uniforms on!

I guess there's something to be said about us Falcon Fans bleeding orange! I hated seeing our logo in red! There was just something wrong with it!

uummmm, unless they altered the color settings on the picture those marching band uniforms WERE orange. I wore one back in the day.

So did I! Several styles ago, but it was still orange!

speaking of those marching band postcards....they shouldnt even be on the shelves anymore. I recently got a university bookstore manager to pull them, based on the fact that the uniforms in those pictures (which were definitely orange lol) havent been used since 2003. just a fyi. that is all. word.
