High school sports web site www.rocketcorner.com and girl's basketball (SW OH version) exoert Jim Dabbelt are reporting that Bowling Green has received a verbal commitment from one of Ohio's best athletes and a true difference maker on the basketball court- Jessica Slagle of Lehman High School in Sidney, OH.
If this posting is correct, BG will have a tremendous athlete (all star volleyball player also) who leads, scores and makes others better. Jessica is about 5'10" or so and jumps very well. She is known as a very tenacious player who will work to win. An old school mind set and approach to the game inside an athletic frame. I am told she is also an outstanding student coming out of the college prep atmosphere at Lehman.
I know a lot of big schools were all over this young lady. If she wears orange it will be super for the Falcons- and great for the Sidney community who can shoot an hour and a half up I 75 and watch her play at all her home games.
If we add Jessica to the aforementioned 6'2" post Maribeth Geise of Cincinnati Mercy, we will have quite a duo.
Go Falcons!

Absolutely. What a great staff....led by a heck of a coach in Curt Miller. I can't believe it will be his 7th year already! Time flies when you're having fun.FalconTurf wrote:It's no accident, Coach Miller is exceptional.Falconfreak90 wrote:ff1,Man, Coach Miller and co. just keep amazing me.
I'm excited to see how this team attacks the year after losing the stellar class from 2006-07. I have a funny feeling this team will still win close to 20 games and be a major player in the MAC all year. Any team with Kate Achter and Lindsey Goldsberry on it has a chance to win every night.

I simply expect them to be the best they can be as they improve each and ever game. Wins will come with Coach Miller but the key thing to watch with this year is the improvement. They will have difficulty starting the season as strong this year as last year. They should do well during the regular season but my expectations for this team are for a run come tournament time. This is when Coach Miller and company's teams peak.
I proudly chose to be a Falcon and a Falcon I will remain until the end.

Slagle = all state in v-ball
Noticed in the PD yesterday that Jessica Slagle made 1st team All-Ohio in volleyball (D-3 I believe)...sounds like another solid athlete.

If she's anything like Tara Breske (also played HS v-ball) , we should be looking a very athletic player here at BG.Class of 61 wrote:Noticed in the PD yesterday that Jessica Slagle made 1st team All-Ohio in volleyball (D-3 I believe)...sounds like another solid athlete.

Schollies for '08
I was just thinking. I forgot all about prized recruit Liana Jennings transferring , so I was wondering does that give us a 3rd schollie for '08 along with Slagle and Geise?
