With the non-conference slate behind us, now is a good time to look at BG's and the MAC's RPI performance thus far.
The MAC made a little bit of a late push to move up to 15th in the Conf. RPI. Not quite as good as last year, but better than we were a month ago. We're also lucky that we're in what looks like the much stronger division:
BG - 74
Miami - 100
Ohio - 125
Akron - 174
Buffalo - 195
Kent St. - 247
EMU - 157
BSU - 178
NIU - 196
UT - 209
CMU - 248
WMU - 258
Hopefully Miami and Ohio will do well in conference so we can have the opportunity to get a couple top-100 wins, especially on the road. We currently don't have a single win over a team in the top-100, which would not look good if we're hoping for an at-large bid in March.
At this point, if we lose more than 1 conference game, I'd say we probably have to win the tourney to go dancing.

Had we beaten ND or beaten IU and ISU we might have a legitimate shot at an at large but the way things are now we just need to take care of the Mac and all will be well. I don't see a Mac teaming seriously challenging us for the title at the moment.BGShawty0809 wrote:Screw a at-large big... we get past EMU and a struggling Ball State and we won't need it. "At the moment" is correct. But with everyone gunning for us in a BiG way, we can expect everyone's best shot on a nightly basis.Falconboy wrote:Had we beaten ND or beaten IU and ISU we might have a legitimate shot at an at large but the way things are now we just need to take care of the Mac and all will be well. Yes, I too fully expect all Mac teams to be gunning for us, but from what I've seen to date from the rest of the Mac , no team scares me a bit.Falconfreak90 wrote:"At the moment" is correct. They should. We're the best team, but this ain't the last few years. This team has to learn how to win the MAC all over again. Miami, Ohio, and EMU all have talented experienced squads that would love to knock us off, and they can if we don't play well.Falconboy wrote:Yes, I too fully expect all Mac teams to be gunning for us, but from what I've seen to date from the rest of the Mac , no team scares me a bit.Falconfreak90 wrote:"At the moment" is correct.
