Top 10 Scorers
Does anyone know who the top 10 women's basketball scorers are? Right now Katie Achter is at number 6, and I'm curious how high she can go. Any information on these girls is fantastic!

Five of them graduated last year, I believe.always a falcon wrote:Cue TG1996 in.........5...4......3......
While I don't know order... Motycka's up there, of course, and Talita Scott.
If I wanted to take a stab at 10 names that might appear on the list?
Motycka
McGuire
Scott
Shade
Horne
Mann
Nordmann
Honegger
...and I bet I'm missign one from the early 80's and someone from recent years that I can picture but not recall...
EDIT TO ADD: Lori Albers.
One more....

I think she's the one I couldn't think of. I knew there was someone that was lights out in the 90's when thinks weren't so peachy as a program.Jacobs4Heisman wrote:Is Wenzel in the ballpark?
That completes my Top 10. I'll go check it later.
I had 5 right, but I think all of the 10 I did guess are at least in the top 20.

Per the media guide, this was the top 10 going into the season.
1. Jackie Motycka 85-59 2122
2. Ali Mann 03-07 1825
3. Sara Puthoff 94-98 1678
4. Francine Miller 98-03 1574
5. Liz Honegger 03-07 1522
6. Talita Scott 90-94 1432
7. Charlotta Jones 94-98 1430
8. Lori Albers 89-94 1424
9. Chris Tuttle 79-83 1420
10. Angie Bonner 87-90 1412
Carin Horne was # 12, Stephanie Wenzel #17, Lindsay Austin #22
I believe Kate Achter now has 1482.
Let's say the team locks up a first round bye in the MAC tournament, & at least gets to the finals, and gets one post season game (even a tourney loss should result in a WNIT bid, and is guaranteed if they win the MAC regular season). That would be six more games. In that scenario she'd have to average 7 points to get to #5, about 16 points a game to pass Francine Miller for #4, and about 33 points per game to pass Puthoff for #3. Obviously the game count could go either up or down from that guess. My guess is she'll end up fourth.
I believe she's second in assists and needs 27 more to catch Dee Knoblauch for the all time lead.
Lauren Prochaska is on pace to end up #2 in scoring. She's got a long way to go of course, but passing Motycka isn't out of the question. She needs 44 more points to tie Motycka for the school record for Freshman scoring.
