The Iowa State in ahead of us makes perfect sense... they beat us head to head so we really don't have a leg to stand on in that situation. I think BG does has an outside shot, but I'd say snow in April is more likely to happen then us dancin in the NCAA... WNIT will be a great way to get our name out there in a big way if we can take it all the way to the 'ship...

Home games for the WNIT are determined by seeding now.....and I suspect that they will get a great seed for the tournament. If they are seeded 1-4, they are assured of a home game. 1 or 2 gives them a pair of home games. I would think that when the smoke settles, they will definitely be viewed as one of the top 8 teams in that tournament which would give them a 2 seed somewhere.

ugh. If these rankings are taken into consideration....and really, it's about the most complete ranking system I've seen, then they're headed for a 3 or a 4 seed. Oh well. I see about 7 teams ranked ahead of
BG that will be WNIT bound who we would beat 9 times out of 10. Bummer I'm not on the WNIT selection committee.

I'll be watching the selection show tonight....just in case. Although unlikely, BG has a long shot chance to get an at large.

If not, WNIT is nothing to be ashamed of after the year we've had and the players we needed to replace after last year.

When and where are WNIT selections made/announced? Will it be along with the NCAA selections? I would like to know yesterday where we are going to be playing.

Jacobs4Heisman wrote:I would love for us to get in. Not gonna happen. We have 2 things going for us. A nice record and a strong finish. We have a ton going against us. Not a single RPI top 50 win. Only 1 top 100 RPI win (Miami). Only 1-4 against the RPI top 100. We only played 5 games against the top 100. That means our record will get minimized by the committee. A loss outside the top 200, and 2 more losses outside the top 100. An RPI of 63.

Our profile just isn't strong at all this year. I'm sure the staff will ramp up the scheduling over the course of the next few years, so we'll have more chances to build our profile with an experienced team. Hopefully we can make some noise in the WNIT to get some nice momentum for the offseason.
I also wish we could make the big dance this year, but I just don't see it happening, based on the info you listed here J4H. I mean if a men's MAC team had this exact same profile we would be saying they have no shot at the NCAA's.

Of the teams that didn't make the NCAA tournament that might be selected, I wouldn't be surprised to see us play Michigan State as a proximity game. I could also see us maybe with Dayton, I can't recall hearing their name called for the NCAA. Those are just a couple of teams that I could see us possibly playing. It is all going to depend on where they have us seeded.

I could see MSU @ the Breslin center though

MSU would draw more fans than BG and its all about the dough when it comes to college sports (kinda funny hun?)

Field is announced... details still pending.

For selfish reasons, I'd love to play Evansville in the first round, and I bet PGY would give up the thought of a home game if BG was sent to Lexington for the first round.

So am I reading this correctly? Is there potential for BG to be playing at KU in the 3/26-28 neighborhood? Granted, we'd have to beat Dayton and MSU first, but that would be SWEET.
