Lauren has broken a school record for single game scoring with 38 points today, and there is still 7:49 to go!

How freakin' good is this girl? :D

I told Mrs. Freak at the rate LP is going, she is going to shatter the career scoring record by the time she's done. Dana looked at me and asked "Is she really just a Sophomore??"

I have a feeling Lauren will be named MAC East POTW again.

Great win, great crowd yesterday....22 straight and rolling along!

So, we win 22 games in a row. The nations leader in FT percentage sets a school record with 40+ points. All this happens on a Sunday, and these are the headline stories on most of the sports web pages:

# NC State tops No. 15 UVa for emotional win
# LSU hands No. 11 Florida second straight loss
# Connecticut races past Pittsburgh in rout
# Bonner's 25 help Auburn to rare 25-win season
# Ohio State wins, regains share of Big Ten lead
# Maryland stays hot with victory vs. Rutgers
# North Carolina breaks away from Georgia Tech
# No. 14 Texas rallies back vs. No. 20 Iowa State
# Sweat, Childs help K-State edge Oklahoma St.
# Balanced effort pulls Vanderbilt past Georgia

What the hell do we have to do to get an ounce of national attention?

I know we are only a MAC program, but with our recent success, we don't really deserve this continual snubbing!

That would be because the wonderful people at ESPN have the following to say about our women's team:
Welcome to the WNIT
Bowling Green: At first pass, the Falcons might look to be a logical choice for the "maybe" category along with Middle Tennessee. The MAC sits on the cusp of being a top-10 league, and Bowling Green has a history of recent success (although that is not a NCAA selection criterion).

However, a deeper look makes the answer easy. The Falcons need to win the MAC tournament, no questions asked. The schedule is just so bad (Hartford was the top opponent and best win), and it's hard to argue with history. The MAC is a one-bid league. Always has been. It would take someone like Bowling Green really scheduling up and getting more than one upset to change that. Last year tells the story. A 25-7 mark and regular-season championship wasn't enough. Even a 26-win regular season in 2009 won't be, either.

All these teams, with the exception of NC State (extraordinary circumstance because of Kay Yow) are in the top 25. We're not. Our game articles don't even have box scores on ESPN right now because we're not in the top 25. If we crack in, you'll see a lot of change real fast.

I have a not-so-subtle feeling that there will be some backlash in the WCBB community as well if we break in. Rebkell will be in flames. I can see it now, "WTF is Bowling Green doing ranked ahead of ..insert BCS school here.."

That airballed free throw last night was flat-out embarrassing.
