But our rpi could be in that range by the end of the season, even if we win out. I don't think the selection committee puts much, if any, stock in the polls.
I agree about not worrying about any of this right now. The only sure thing is to win the conference tournament, and that will not be easy.

National Polls are not in the room. We don't have a shot in Hell at a 7th seed based on our SOS.JWEIII wrote:These idiots drive me nuts. A #12 seed translates to overall seeds 48-52, yet BG is in the AP top 25. Does this bother anyone else?
If BG finishes in the AP and gets higher than a #7 seed it's a hose job!
I think 10 is probably our ceiling if we win out relatively convincingly. I'm OK with that.
Roll Along!
Understood. But it's STILL a complete contradiction. Based on the views of womens' college basketball coaches and the media that report on women's hoops BG, right now, is around 25th to 26th in the nation. That is according to the "experts." So the "Slection Committee" (which has no MAC representation, by the way) says, "OK, but your RPI isn't that good. So, despite the opinions of people who know what they are talking about, we are going to seed about... 20 teams ahead of you in the bracket." Either the RPI is crap or the coaches/media have no idea what they are talking about - but you can't have it both ways! We'll see!Jacobs4Heisman wrote:National Polls are not in the room. (But off the record I agree that none of this matters. However, the annual, and blatant, hosing of the "Mid Majors" always gets me fired up. Just saying...)

The Mid American Conference does have representation on the Women's Selection Committee. BGSU Athletic Director Greg Christopher is on the committee until 2012, He can't be in the room when BG is discussed, but he certainly can lay some groundwork for the MAC.
I don't know how much this will help but at least now the MAC has some representation.
