Genoa senior Simone Eli scored 24 points and was recognized Most Valuable Player in the North's 84-83 victory in the Division III-IV Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Association All-Star game Sunday in Columbus.
Eli was one of 20 Division III-IV players from around the state selected to play in the annual OHSBCA All-Star game at Capital University. The game is a showcase of many of the top players in Ohio.
Eli represented the Northwest District. She averaged 20.6 points, 4.6 assists and 2.8 steals as a senior.
Eli finished her career with a program-record 176 three-pointers.
Eli, who was second-team all-Ohio and co-Northwest District Player of the Year in Division III, will continue her career at Bowling Green State University.
