BG vs Bonnies....

Post by Falconboy »

Ladies down 45-40 at the 15:29 mark. This is gonna be a tough game to get on the road. We gotta step up the D, no to's and get to the foul line.

Down 15 points with 11:00 to go. I sense a run coming. Bonnies will eventually cool off. Hard physical game

We're getting our butts kicked right now 60-44. Bonnies appear to have a very good team with a nice mix of athleticism and shooters.

Can't get the feed on my computer for some reason...what's the scoop now? And who's doing the damage to us? (I'm guessing St. Bon might be big inside). It' 2:55Pm.

The Bonnies have a couple of girls at 6'2 but non are doing any damage to us as neither have registered any stats and maybe havent even played. Most of the girls for Bonnies are in the same range as us. They are just shooting lights out on their home court and we're having a tough time getting things going I guess. The Bonnies have beaten both Canisius and Marist who appear to be their best wins.

BG loses to St. Bonnaventure 70-54. Sucks to lose but the Bonnies are now 10-0 and certainly not for nothing. We didn't come out with a very good offensive performance at all and we must get it back. All of our losses are more than likely going to be vs 25+ win teams. We really needed this win for our rpi as the rest of our sched is somewhat weak 'cept for Hartford who we have to on the road to.

Falcons had a chance to take the lead a couple of times late in the first half after working their way back into the game against a great team. Besides Prochaska scoring most of the points, we could not seem to get Tracy or Tamika many decent looks. And when we did get the open looks, simply did not make them. Breske looked great again... really hope that knee holds up, but she looks like she's almost fit.

This team I feel is struggling to find an identity. Sometimes I feel they are just going through the motions as well. And besides Coach Miller's fiery attitude, I don't really see much passion or great intensity from the players. Anyone agree? I'm hoping within the next few games they gain some confidence and develop a never say die attitude for the full 40. They surely have the talent and skill, but without winning the conference tournament, no NCAA tournament.

The good thing is the season is still fairly young... and I have no doubts by they will be playing their best ball when it matters... the latter part of the season. It sucks to lose, but they'll learn from it.

I think they are missing a good leader on the court.

I think I would have to sorta agree with that assessment. We have some very good players , but we are missing a true leader ala Kate Achter. I distinctly remember seeing Kate in the BCSN tv booth at one recent home games mildly shaking her head as the game ended. We had won the game but I could tell she was disappointed with the effort that the team had at times. This team still has some growing do do. A leader needs to emerge soon and I think it could be Jess Slagle in time as she's seems to be the only one that resembles Kate's fire and intensity on the court.
