Hey, guys. I am a former sportswriter in Virginia who runs a blog on the state's Division I women's basketball teams. Just for fun, I decided to produce a weekly Top-25 ranking of all non-BCS conference teams. Naturally, Bowling Green was high on my list. And the more I started following them, the more I realized what a wonderful team you have. And then there was Lauren Prochaska's free throw streak. It got to the point where Bowling Green boxscores were the first I checked, even before my own Virginia teams. As you probably know, the old record was held by a former Richmond star (now assistant coach) Ginny Doyle, so that gave me a reason to keep referring to it. And then when the streak ended, Lauren had some really classy things to say, including how neat it was to get a letter from Doyle.
Anyway, I registered for this site for the sole purpose of letting you guys know your team has gained another admirer. Here's hoping the great ride the Falcons are on continues.

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Come up to BG and we'll buy you a beer or hot chocolate and go to a game!! You've got some Orange I assume.
(Didn't BG have a couple of folks from the Athletic Dept go to work at U of V several years ago?)

Not sure about the Athletic Department, but I believe BGSU33 was an Assistant SID or something at UVa.

Didn't post the link because, well, it's mostly about Virginia teams. But you may be interested in the mid-major rankings. I hate that term, so I call it the Silent Majority rankings. Warning: I have the Falcons at No. 3, behind Xavier and Marist. Debatable with Marist, I know. I was blown away by the Red Foxes' Duel in the Desert trifecta over Nebraska, Louisville and Houston. Reasonable people can disagree. Plus I figure it's a weekly ranking. No rule that says they have to stay there. In fact, after Xavier's no-show at Stanford the other night, I'm not sure the Musketeers deserve the top spot this week. We'll see.
By the way, I saw where Lauren was 6-of-9 from the free throw line the other day. Bummer. But 28 points, 4 assists, 4 steals? I think I'll give her a pass.
Here's the link. Feel free to criticize/comment at will.
