Lauren Prochaska only needs six more points to reach 2,000 points in her storied BGSU career. And, only 129 more to break the all-time scoring record held by Jackie Motycka.
Let's see......I feel the urge for some math:
129 more points divided by 14 more league games is a mere 9.2 points per game. But since Lo's average is almost 20 points per game, let's divide the 129 points by 20 and .......it computes to 6.45 games from now.
Hmmmmmmm.....our 7th game from now is at Northern Illinois - certainly not our first choice place for a record-breaker game since it's in DeKalb, Illinois. Our sixth game from now is at Western Michigan. Again - - Kalamazoo is not a strongly preferred city, although it certainly is closer than DeKalb.
How about the basketball gods put their collective powers and karma to work and allow Lauren to beat the all-time BGSU scoring record during the FIFTH game from now? She'd have to "only" average 25.8 points per game for that to happen between now and then. Let's see..............looking at the schedule............yes, me thinks that the home game on Wednesday, January 26th (a BCSN televised game) would be the PERFECT setting, don't you?
Oh yeah.........our opponent is some team 20 miles north of us.
Beating the Rockets for the last time in the House That Roars combined with an all-time scoring record being set?
PRICELESS.
