Is turning out the lights and shining the spotlights on the visiting team starting line up a new courtesy we show our opponents

That was MY fault yesterday. I was ready for some basketball and forgot to allow the color guard time to exit the court before beginning the starting line-ups. Look no further for who to blame on that one.

Don't take all the credit. Besides, along with the teams and the coaches, you're one of the best parts of the games since you seem to announce both sides fairly and, hopefully, make our guests feel welcome.

I think we all were ready for some basketball, especially after a 3 minute rendition of The National Anthem. So I don't sound like I'm complaining, I wonder to whom I should write and suggest that the singers, no matter how lovely their voices are, sing The Star Spangled Banner and a nice brisk tempo instead of as though they were doing a performance on American Idol.

I also wonder if the lights in the score table ads changing affect the players' concentration or their literal focus with the ads coming on so brightly as often as they do. (Rods and cones in their eyes as they try to adjust to sudden light ...)

I do come to the games to cheer on our team, and I come to the forum for similar reason, but, as a whole package or the total presentation, nay, the total experience that the Athletic Department seems to want to project, I admit I often get bogged down by all the rhetoric and sensory distractions, finding it difficult to settle down and "just" enjoy the game. I don't see my commenting on these non-game things as being that much different from all the people I see yelling at referees when they disagree with certain questionable calls.
