Re: Starting Lineups & Playing Time

Therefore, I don't get on here after every game and complain about someone not playing. Our coaching staff has proven themselves in the short time they have been in place here at BGSU, so I trust them to make those decisions and put us in the best position to win. Hey, let's all get to AA tomorrow night for a big game against Miami! Michelle and I will be trying to hustle up after work ... we might be a tad late for that 7:00 start.
well and generously spoken. there's so much more to basketball than size, although some people refuse to believe this. i couldn't agree more with the following statement: "I'm not at practice everyday, nor do I scout every opponent to determine where we can exploit certain matchups." maybe some folks on this board have been "studying" basketball since age five, and you know what? coaches miller, roos, poole and eckert likely have been, too, and, they're the ones with whom mr. krebs has entrusted our ladies basketball program. there's no reason to make inane posts second guessing the coaches' decisions.
in any case, beat the redskins! hope to see another 1,000 folks at the game tonight!

Who is falconboy and what does he know about basketball? Sounds like he has an agenda. I agree with BGSU99, the coaching staff has done a great job in recruiting and they have consistently put 5 women on the floor who will get the job done. Now all we need is to get the five to get the 85 and we'll get the "fries" Just kidding,Brandi. Let's start taking a friend(s) to the game, the ladies sure deserve to hear the "house that roars"!

Thanks for the props on my post. I definitely didn't mean that to step on falconboy's posts because he has a right to his opinion and from what I understand, he's a big fan that is at most, if not all of the home games. I was just stating my position on the matter. I was an assistant basketball coach in the late 80's for a middle school boys team and also was an assistant for some AAU girls teams in the summers from 1995-1997. I know a "little" about the game and love the game. As many others do, I choose to enjoy the games, support the team, and leave the coaching decisions to those who are entrusted to make those decisions. If we were losing, I may listen more intently to some of the other posts and might even agree with some of them, but the fact of the matter is we are a winning program right now. Our coaching staff has done a magnificent job of recruiting. They have also done a nice job of game coaching and getting the most out of our talent. They appear to make adjustments (offensive play calls, switching defenses, calling timeouts when needed) during the game and I generally don't see any fault in what they are doing. I've said this before, but the record speaks for itself. I think the tough non-league schedule and all the early season road games have paid some dividends. This is a gritty team we have here, one that is not rattled by being down on the road and has the ability to gut out a close win on the road. They have also shown the ability to come back and play through adversity (like the one-way whistles at UT last Saturday). I could go on, but you get the picture. Needless to say, I am really looking forward to the next few months of BGSU womens basketball!
