Let's go back to gmartin's SECOND post in this thread. No problem with anything he said. Chrissy is in the tank, the players seem to be afraid to shoot. Did they not have 3 or 4 shot clock violations? The OU announcers alluded to the fact the we were not shooting and, I guess missing is as contagious as making baskets.
Last year, when Lauren had those type of games, she solved it by SHOOTING! She was also the player you wanted to have the ball in her hands at crunch time. We don't have that type of player on this year's team. Logan was the hero at Central, Lex in more games. So, in a rebuilding year, we get spoiled by good results. It's still a young team, but as Curt says, the upperclassmen need to step up.
Tavelyn James at EMU, probably Ingersoll at UT, and Osborne at Miami are the stars this year. We also don't have upperclassmen like the other 3 teams. Jasmine may be our hero by her Junior year, and I'm betting on Keila to make some noise, but because of the last 4 years, we have one starter and all the rest of the players saw limited action. I read somewhere the Jess has scored almost as many points this year as in her 3 previous seasons.
Now, let's just get through the next 5-6 games and celebrate a good season. BG will still probably get the pick next year, because of reputation and only losing one senior, but really, this year is just a bonus. If the Falcons make it to the postseason, does anyone expect them to go far? Not likely because we didn't expect them to only lose 5 games so far.

This is mean-spirited, but I'm going to say it anyways. I would prefer you stop posting over ccolin13, because at least his posts are readable. I often find myself glazing over your posts or completely skipping them because they make my eyes tired and my head hurt.BGSUE wrote:The problem I have with the discussions is so many people tell what they think should have been done but hardly ever compliment the players or build them up when we win or lose. With 5 losses & some "grinder" wins everybody becomes the day after coach. Curt, his staff and the kids have done an amazing job. If I can't keep pointing this out then I guess I need to stop posting on this board also.
As for the women's team, I am ecstatic that they've played as well as they have, but there are times where it is very evident that they are young and inexperienced. When I watch the game, we seem to be the team out of control and throwing up terrible shots instead of the team dictating the pace. Last year, we were dictating the game. This year, we scramble to keep up. Next year should be better as far as that is concerned.
ROLL ALONG!!!
