a game topic. BG vs. their "rival" and it goes as they all seem to be going these days: another BG loss. With only a couple exceptions, it seems like BG can't beat the rockettes in anything of note. Perhaps we should try tiddly winks?
It really surprised me that BG's women's program has fallen so low, so fast that there wasn't even a discussion focused solely on this game.

Well, the Falcons showed flashes of the Eastern Michigan game for the first six minutes of the game, then fizzled out for the last three quarters. They were out hustled, outmuscled, and outplayed the majority of the game. The Rockets got easy layups and wide open three-pointers all game long. The Falcons, after blowing their 8-point first quarter lead, kept shooting themselves in the foot by throwing fundamentals and consistency out the window. The Rockets made defensive changes after Lambert burned them several times from long range, and those changes shut down the three ball. The Falcons didn't appear to make any defensive changes, and Toledo kept making layups and threes. I've said before that if you want a different result, don't keep doing the same stuff. Are we too slow defensively to play a matchup man-to-man on their perimeter shooters? We are too slow defending the inside, as Toledo kept driving past the Falcon post players all day long, with ease. Yes, Myers had a cold hand, and Lambert's open looks were diminished in the second half. The Rockets are not as good as EMU, but the Falcons' play made Toledo look better than the Eagles. Today's performance, to me, is not acceptable, and cannot be blamed on injury or a shortage of players. The team did NOT look like they were ready to play OR to win. We are at a point in the season where there are no more excuses for substandard play. We are NOT getting the job done. We are NOT playing with drive and resolve. We are NOT expecting, commanding, nor achieving excellence. Mediocrity is unacceptable, to the coaches, the players, and the fans. I believe we have a lot of good talent on this team. I also believe there are a couple of players who have star potential, and a few others have shown little or no improvement from day one. Regardless, I will cheer on the Falcons. GO FALCONS!!!!!!
