Losers again

Post by HoopsFan »

The women held the lead for 39 minutes, then lost in the final second on an uncontested layup.

When it rains....they had a great effort but an unfortunate breakdown at the end cost the game. Tough times right now but they are fighting.

An awesome day behind the arc, but turnovers and defensive lapses spelled doom for the ladies today. Tibbs had "happy feet" all game long, and we did not adapt well to the defensive changes CMU implemented in the fourth quarter. We have proven time and again that double-digit leads mean nothing for the Falcons, as we squander them away like vapor in the hot sun. I am still trying to understand how CMU's game-winning shot wasn't even contested. Do five defensive players not know where the ball is? Our foul shooting was mediocre, at best. We plain got outcoached and outhustled in the last quarter. Admittedly, the team has been playing better lately, and doing so against some good teams. But we must learn to finish the job! I realize that basketball is a game of runs, but that's not the same as a total collapse. When a team gets a double-digit lead, and habitually squanders it, then they need to work on improved consistency. Take care of the ball and play a fundamentally sound game. And most of all, do so with assertiveness and attitude. I know it seems like I'm hard on the team, but I just try to be up front and honest with my posts. In spite of the loss, I still want to congratulate Rachel Myers and Haley Puk for the memorable game they played today! Also, congrats to the whole team for their impressive 3-point shooting display! Let's keep shooting lights out, and take care of business on the other end of the floor, and things will be looking up! Go Falcons!

5 for 11 from line.... How do you shoot over 59% from 3 land and less than 50% from 15'.?
