Women's MAC Tournament

Post by gmartin »

Well Buffalo upset 24-5 Ohio. Ohio will not get an at large especially losing in the Quarterfinals.

Akron beat Toledo.

This conference needs CMU to win the Championship. I don't see any other team besides CMU pulling out a win in the NCAA. I liked Ohio but they are NIT bound.

Is it really an upset if you've beaten the same team three times in a season? For some reason, The Bulls had Ohio's number this year.

That said, Ohio is doing it right. I noticed they are heavily recruiting the Columbus area schools, and have yet another standout signed for next year. The caliber of basketball in Central Ohio is really, really good on the women's side -- and I don't understand why BG isn't pulling in more talent from here. Of course, I don't understand why the women's team at BG is doing a lot of stuff it is. The program is on a very steep decline.

BG, before Roos, recruited Central Ohio area well. Columbus, Dayton, Pickerington. Past 5 years we have recruited more high school NW Ohio players, some lower division schools and you can tell by the outcomes. I think when Roos wasn't the head coach she did a wonderful job in recruiting top talent. Unfortunately her assistants are not recruiting the same areas we were in our glory years.

First game Ohio was without one of its best players. Second game they held a lead at half and got into foul trouble. Neither should be an excuse. Ohio outscored it's other 16, non Buffalo opponents by 316 points, winning by an average of 20ppg, however Buffalo has had Ohio's number this year.
