Postseason watch

Post by BillyLP »

BG currently listed as a First Four Out on the women’s bracketology, so pretty unlikely they receive an at-large bid. The WNIT will announce their field shortly after the NCAA field is announced.

Don’t understand the “ 1st 4 out” concept, but this team DESERVES a shot in NCAAs.
Suppose the argument against is young team, will probably be back etc. but there are NO guarantees in sports.

They fall a bit short in NET and RPI rankings because there wasn’t a full non-conference slate. That’s unfortunately going to keep the MAC a one bid league this year, even though it’s proven over the last several years to be a strong multi bid league.

Thanks, but if there was EVER a reason for NOT having a “ full” non conf. Schedule it should be this year. How many teams were able to play a 30-35 game schedule?
If we were a BIG team, we’d be in w/ no probs. W/ same record, possibly worse.

BG is likely going to be left out tonight.

However, we have a chance to be a high seed in the WNIT, if things go as expected. We are listed as a participant (via automatic qualification) on the WNIT website right now, after all.

Not expecting them to get in the NCAA even though they are deserving. Not the first time we’ve seen a great team left out, like the 2008-09 team ( 29-5 record at the end of the MAC tourney) and they were fantastic.

Shocked that Ohio would be included and Buffalo wouldn’t be. Must have only had two spaces carved out for the MAC.

Bowling Green plays Creighton (9-11) on Friday, March 19th at 3:00 in Rockford, Illinois. They are guaranteed to play at least two games as their is a consolation bracket in each regional.

Buffalo was the 33rd team and will be the fill in team available if a team has to back out of the tournament.
