These nights happen. At one point, we had Davis trapped, back to the basket, swarmed outside the 3 point line with the clock running out. She spun and nailed a double teamed fade away 3 pointer. You can not defend that any better.

I’d rather have seen us hit a few more shots like normal . Maybe have another solid 3 point shooter (instead of losing them in January?). But I will take this. We played hard. We played well. We just couldn't sink the shots and they did.
Someone can correct me if wrong, but this has not been a good shooting team all season. Seems like they struggle far too much in just about every aspect of FG shooting. Hell, even short shots or layups seemed like too much of an issue.

Ultimately, BG got killed inside and in its shooting accuracy in this game. It was a good run, now we turn our attention to the coach and see if she's going to stay.

I'm not sure where to post this, but I just received an email saying that a deposit of $50 will hold my place in line for season tickets for next year. It took the athletic department 16 hours to pull together what I think is a pretty good solicitation. Talk about trying to capitalize on the current feel-good!

Great! I actually suggested to someone there that they actually solicit for them at the game last night and offer something minor, like two free hotdogs if they put a deposit down on season tickets. I figured that wasn't a realistic turnaround time, but doing the day after a sell out where it seems like everyone had a great time is a pro move.

Attended more games than any responsible student should have.

It’s a pro move, just like I thought it was really intelligent that they announced we were hosting Columbia within minutes of the end of the Florida game and started selling tickets immediately.

Retention is huge. And when you have a “captive” audience with people already in the building, it’s easy to sell them on coming out for the next game. Same holds true for the folks that were at the game last night - even despite the loss, we’re still riding the wave of a phenomenal run, so it’s huge to capitalize on that.

Our shooting percentage and offense in general suffered the moment Morgan Sharps got injured vs Toledo. We were never the same offensively after that. She can score at all 3 levels, but was especially lethal from 3. That threat really opened everyone else up, and when that went away we really didn't have a way to backfill that void.

Brett and Fleming are both very capable shooters, but with all else they were relied upon to do on both ends (plus having to play more minutes with one less rotation player), it's tough to ask them to shoot at a higher percentage.

It was a tough break for the squad this year, and honestly made the runs that this team did make even more impressive. Not many MAC teams can survive the loss of a double digit scoring starter and still find success, but we found a way. Huge credit to this team.
LONG LIVE THE MONGOOSE!!

Matty B. You are right on top of this analysis. The team was a juggernaut with Sharps mostly hot shooting 3's and while good afterwards they had disappointing games against N. Illinois, Buffalo and Toledo that begged for a hot hand at the 3.
