Vs Detroit.

Post by FalconRollAlong »

BG fell to Kate Achter’s team last night. Wasn’t able to watch much of it but saw they made it close towards the end, but Detroit was able to pull away again to seal the win.

Watched the replay. BG was out of sync a lot and sloppy play. UDM made the big plays when they had to. I wondered this before the BG hire but was Achter a better choice to come home. She has now turned around two moribund programs in a relatively short timeframe.

Was wondering the same about Achter, but maybe it can still happen in the future.

Replying to the point on Achter… it is my understanding that DVDM talked with the remaining players from the WNIT team about what they wanted in a coach. They gave different characteristics of what they were looking for and also provided names of coaches they didn’t want. Achter was one of the coaches they said they didn’t want.

That's fascinating, but I would guess that opinion they held came from Allison Day's experience playing for her at Loyola before she transferred here.

I will always root for BG people, but I'm wondering what the real reason is that she was run out of Loyola and wasn't welcomed home. Interesting dynamic.
