The Lady Falcons move to 5-0 on the season with a 78-67 win at Detroit. The Falcons were up 33-32 at halftime. The women play Duquesne on Tuesday in Anderson Arena. The game starts at 7pm. Be there and cheer the Falcons to 6-0.

Tough win down the stretch. UDM was only down 66-65 late and BG put them away with 8 for 8 FT shooting. Kate Achter was 12-12 FT! The team was 26 of 29!!!

A lunch pail game last night. There will be nights like that but we got the W and are now 5-0! YES! This team is so worth watching and following. Too bad I can't get to a game until 1/7!

This team has some tough opponets coming up:

Dusquene (2-3) but played three tough games (Penn St, Carolina and Pitt)

Fl Int'l(5-0) and Kentucky (4-0) both undefeated play tonight so one of those teams will suffer their first loss. Wonder if coach Miller will go scout that game. Kind of interesting these two teams meet, and then we play both of these teams in the next few weeks.

Regardless the names may not stick out at you, but the teams BG wil be playing have some tough wins and impressive records. Plus Indiana won last night by I think 18 points.

Oh and by the way, the 4 loses that Detroit has suffered (Kansas State, Kansas, Cincy and BG) have a combined record of 16-1, YES 16-1. BG beat a good Detroit team

Plus Detroit had Cinci and KU beat but let the games slip away. Last night would have been a classic for our girls to come out flat and get beat after a huge road win. The fact that they battled and refused to give up and were willing to win ugly, shows how much this relatively young team has grown up. The fact that all the contributors we have, except maybe Amber Flynn, played a ton right from the start gives us a distinct game experience advantage over almost any team we will play.

The Kentucky game will go a long ways towards this team being in the running for an at-large bid to the NCAA's even if the MAC tournament goes sour.

It should be a very interesting game indeed. From everything I've seen on UK's website is FIU is largely made up of international players that play a more European brand of basketball. It should be a good measuring stick for both teams. I am really excited then to see BG play both of these schools to see where BG stands. The BG-UK game particularly should be very entertaining and hopefully well attended game by BG alumni in Kentucky and fans that make the trip to Lexington.

What kind of mileage/time we talking about from BG - Lex assuming decent weather? I haven't made the trip down that way since I drove to Panama City for SB freshman year.

about 250miles. Its about 80 miles south of Cincinnati. Straight shot down I-75.

That's what I thought I remembered. I actually left from cinci when I went down south last time. My g/f at the time lived in Cinci so I remember the beaten path down I-75 all too well. I think I'm going to have that whole day off work so I'm seriously contemplating this trip.

Maybe I'll take the woman and get down to cinci for the weekend or something and see some friends down there. I miss that city.
