There's stuttering, and then there's THAT! I mean, to stammer through the exact same quote twice!!?!?! the man has skills! I think Amaker also made a comment about not wanting to play at AA again, because of the crowd factor.

To bring this back toward the women, both those NCAA tourney games were so electric, it was awesome! (And from the "shoulda, coulda, woulda" department... we shoulda, coulda, woulda won both of 'em!)

why, i don't know what you mean. there are clearly two distinct amaker quotes in there.
let's not forget suzy "the cilf" merchant's words after emu eeked out a win at AA last year.
"It was hot in there. It was hot in there, it was loud in there ... I thought they had a really nice crowd. They're always right on top of you. Every time you come in here, it could be ten below (outside), and to me, it just feels like the intensity is so high in here. The fans are right on you, and they were loud, yelling 'defense' down the stretch. I think they got us out of rhythm, because (the players) couldn't hear what I was staying ... I thought their crowd certainly made a difference."
good, involved crowds make AA a tough place to play, no matter which team is on the court.

1. 4,408 Florida, 3/17/93 *
I was there also - 3rd row, half-court in the student section. It was surreal seeing us host a big-time game like that, with us being the #7 seed hosting a team from the big-bad SEC. I actually got goosebumps seeing the official NCAA championship tournament banner spread out in front of the scorer's table on the other side of the court in our own arena. Great game, great crowd with a heart-breaking finish.

The good old days are back, that's for sure.

I figured this would interest some people.

Top crowds at Anderson Arena:

1. 4,408 Florida, 3/17/93 *
2. 4,013 Toledo, 2/19/92
3. 3,779 Central Michigan, 1/18/03
4. 3,772 Creighton, 3/16/94 *
5. 3,268 Toledo, 3/5/94
6. 2,837 Miami, 2/15/03
7. 2,667 Detroit, 11/25/03
8. 2,654 Ball State, 3/4/97
9. 2,572 Toledo, 1/25/97
10. 2,520 Toledo, 1/31/98
11. 2,329 Kent, 2/14/98
12. 2,184 Eastern Michigan, 2/15/97

* NCAA tournament game.

Also, believe it or not, the Falcons *averaged* 1,547 per home game in 1993-94.

It's fun to see the Falcons are back.
Whoa , we had crowds for the lady falcons that big before? I'm shocked. I never new we even had crowds above 2,000 before. Wow, I'm surprised. I guess we still gotta ways to go before we get back to those early 90's crowds then. We had better have 2,000 or more for Kent St. I'm sad that I can't be there , I'm in Mesa Arizona right now , I just hope I can find some high-speed internet access out here to listen on wbgufm.com's feed (if it works  ).

I'll be in the air during the game so I'll only be able to check for the score once I get to the hotel. Does it make me weird that I'm sad about going to Orlando because I'll miss a women's b-ball game? :)

I will unfortunately have to miss the game as well. That definitely sucks. I'm hoping to return to my room to see a HUGE BG win posted on the BG athletics site.

They had 1,301 fans at the men's game last night.

My money says more come out to see the women tonight.

You are absolutely correct. 2,100 is my guess.
