My problem with getting a 5-6 seed is that we don't have a signature win.

Indiana, Temple, Delaware and a close loss to Duke.

I am not sure that is enough to really make the committee stand up and say BG deserves their ranking.
My thoughts also. We really could've helped ourselves dramatically if we pulled out of that ND game out with a W.

how would ND be considered a signature win? They are unranked and not receiving any votes in either poll. Indiana, so far, was the key win. Especially with the style points they got in the form of a "behind the woodshed" whooping they gave the Hoosiers that night. Now, Indiana needs to go on a 10 or 11 game winning streak and get themselves firmly back into the top 25. It could happen....couldn't it?

What helps more than a win over ND would have helped is if Duke continues to beat everyone they play by 20+ points. Everytime Duke takes the floor and blows someone out, BGSU looks even better to the pollsters and members of the selection committee.

Nancy Lieberman thinks we could be the ladies George Mason as well:

Emanuel (Dayton): How long until we see a cinderella program like George Mason get to the women's Final Four?

Nancy Lieberman: Didn't we see that a couple years ago with Baylor? They didn't come from obscurity, but no one though they were going to win a championship. That's pretty good in my book. There are teams out there, though. Every year we keep talking about teams that pop up and contend besides the incumbents. I think Marquette is having a great year, with a 15-game win streak ending last night. Bowling Green could be that Cinderella team. Pitt is playing great basketball. To get into the upper echelon; that takes work. It's one thing to have a great season, it's another thing to get to a Final Four and win a championship.
