I've been a fan of this conference since many on this forum were learning not the sh!t themselves. I've seen enough to make me realize there is NO SUCH THING as a sure win.
Ever.
Period.
I see every game remaining on the year as a potential loss. Why? Because I've been a fan of this confernce for a long phucking time, that's why. With experience comes wisdom.....well and senility, but that's a discussion for another time.

Better get fitted for a new tinfoil hat, 24. The metal ones are most definately coming.
As for the metal hat, as long as they've got one in orange and brown, its cool. It'll be the perfect complement to my jersey.
Just because BG wins won't mean you're right for thinking they can't lose.
The opposite of blind and foolish thoughts of invincibility is not negativity. It's guarded optimism.

Well, you might call it guarded optimism, I think of it more like attempting to foresee imminent doom. A lot of you have thoughts in your mind of a conference bottom feeder beating you, at a time where you've won 31 freaking straight in conference. That's not optimism. Optimism would be, okay, let's just do what we have to do, knock them out, and get out of Kalamazoo with number 32 in hand. And then number 33 over in Ypsilanti, and so on. If you start thinking teams are going to beat you (and we're not even talking about a good team like Balls Tate here) to me that's like doubting the team. In a lot of cases I can see where doubting teams would be easily justified, but not here. Our women have done nothing to warrant such cloudiness.Jacobs4Heisman wrote:bgsufalcon24 wrote:Let's just leave it until Wednesday night. I say BG wins by 20. RUIT, it seems as if most people on this message board share the same philosophy that you just laid out. I'm just not that type, at least not yet. I've got a lot of living to do, a lot of mistakes to make, and a lot of things to do before I fall into that kind of philosophy.

I think you're really misinterpreting my mindset, and probably the mindset of others. I'm very confident that we will win tonight. I'd probably put it at 90-95%, which is about as confident as I get. I don't doubt our team at all, but I know they're not invincible.
At the same time, I recognize that there is a possibility, however slim, that we could walk into a hostile atmosphere, with some nagging injuries, against a team with the best player in the MAC, that just blew out a good team on the road, with a monster bullseye on our back, and get beat if we play a bad game. You seem to be saying there is no possible way we could ever lose tonight. That's just not the case. This isn't Chicago St. at Duke here.

I don't think anyone is saying they doubt team, they are saying anything is possible, especially in conference play on the road. Do I think we will blowout Western tonight, yes. Do I know that there is a very small chance we could lose this game, yes.

24 - I love your optimism, but when you start saying things like another team has no chance to knock us off, you start entering the realm of the obnoxious OSU FB fan mentality.
Remember how you got on people's cases about the FB team possibly losing to Temple? Learn from the past.

I agree with your thought on the EMU game, as for BSU I still can't see the, hanging with us at AA for 40 minutes. As I said in an earlier post, I hope the BSU game is promoted like last season's EMU game wasfalconboy wrote:Especially since we've lost a 2nd player to injury the chances of us losing on the road is even higher now. I still say we beat WMU rather easily but other games like BSU or EMU could scare us royally.
