One person's misstep is another's opportunity. With the quality of players Curt Miller has been bringing in to BG I look for someone who hasn't been getting a lot of PT to step up and do well.

McCoy is a good person. People make mistakes, it is part of life and she will learn from this. Sure she will probable miss up to 5 games. This womens team is deep and losing her will hurt but I am sure who ever will step in will be ready to play and play hard. Coach Miller will make sure this does not effect the team and I would look for this not to be even discussed from here on out.

I would look for Jess or Jen to get the starting nod... mostly likely Jen..

I don't see us starting a 4 guard lineup or both Chelsea and Tara so I think it well be Jen as well who gets the start

Yes, McCoy will learn from this one way or another. It sucks but we must go on. There might be an adjustment period to her being gone for a while but we'll be fine.

To be honest, I wouldn't would love to see Tara slide down the the 4 and see if Albert or Zuercher could play some 5 for us along with Giese. I would rather see that than us go too small unless your talking about somebody like Clapper coming in and being that 4th guard which actually gives us a bigger lineup as Clapper is at least 6'1. Athleticism would go down a bit but the outside shooting of the lineup would be given a boost. We could honestly survive with Tara sliding down to the 4 and then back up to the 5 when necessary.

Is anyone else seriously disturbed that Niki would drink that much alcohol after a game, on a school night, and get behind the wheel endangering the whole town?
I know I am.

I'm not. She did a stupid thing. However, I have full confidence that since that has happened Coach Miller and staff have made sure she know just how stupid of a decision it was. I have full faith that she will learn her lesson and will be better for it.

The BG news article said her blood alcohol level was .178. The legal limit is .08. I have confidence Coach Miller will handle the situation well, but to get that tanked in-season, the night of a game no less, shows some serious issues.

Oh no, not a...SCHOOL NIGHT

What, are you her mom or something? What difference does it make if she went out after a game? The mistake wasn't going out, it came later when she drove.

Do people think athletes have (or should have) halos over their heads at all times?

Sure I'm concerned because someone is making a silly choice and putting the lives of many people in danger.

On a school night, she may not have classes the next day and practice begins at noon I believe. It's her right, being of legal age, to be out that late partying. The driving part, well the illegal actions will be taken care of by the appropriate people.

Am I concerned that it happened to be a female basketball player at BG? Not any more than I'd be if anyone else were doing it.
