To me it's validation that the MAC should have received an at-large bid...NY-BG-FAN wrote:I totally agree. This win for Ball State certainly validates that their win over us in the MAC Championship was no fluke. BG may have been 15-1, but Ball State was 14-2 so they were right there with us. I hate to play the what-if game, but wow this could've been BG...
The MAC is definitely one of the top conferences out side of the "Big 6" in women's basketball.

Roller suffered from depression.

Not sure what she is doing now, but evidently she did make it back to Muncie for Senior Night.

Best wishes to Coach Roller on her recovery/

I don't think any of us would be crying for Ball State to receive an at-large if we had just beaten Tennessee.BGFan wrote:To me it's validation that the MAC should have received an at-large bid...NY-BG-FAN wrote:I totally agree. The MAC is getting there, and I think with the coaches we have in place we'll be a multi-bid league in as few as 3-5 years, but we're not there yet. The conference needs to start scheduling up more consistently OOC, and I think it will.

It perturbs me a bit though when ESPN proclaims BSU the Mac Champs instead of prefacing Mac Tourney Champs in this line of the recap.
"Porchia Green led Ball State with 23 points, Audrey McDonald added 18 and the Mid-American Conference champions dominated the second half to capture the biggest win in school history."
Its ESPN though, so what else have we come to expect.
That aside this is a monster win for Ball St and the Mac. I did not expect this in the slightest let alone a 16 pt domination win for the Cards. If we can continue to get quality wins like this routinely we should inch ourselves closer to a 2 bids.

They say that for every team, big or small, men's or women's, that wins the conference tourney, and they seem to always have. CBS does it when it comes to the men's tourney as wellFalconboy wrote:It perturbs me a bit though when ESPN proclaims BSU the Mac Champs instead of prefacing Mac Tourney Champs in this line of the recap.
