But games weren't selling out at Anderson Arena with those things allowed......DustinXtreme wrote:I bet you are wondering why no game has sold out?! well lets count the most likely of reasons why!
1.Turning away fans for either A.taking a bottle of water into the game or B. Having suckers for their kids or C. Having an umbrella to stay dry when it is raining outside
2.Charging full price admission for kids

I give up! the Athletic Department is run by a bunch of brainless morons who don't know their ass from a hole in the ground! Get rid of the Mighty Mouse Tin Soldiers and then maybe more fans would attend the games!

I know the very idea seems outlandish, if not improbable...but I do indeed still have all my fingers

There is a water fountain at the Stroh Center. I won't pay $3 for water but I will use the free water fountain before and at halftime if I need it.
The scheduling issue that I commented about on another thread has not happened in years until this year. Flipper, I didn't think about soccer and other sports as IU generally do not attend them. Hockey and Basketball are both money making sports on this campus with many people who choose to buy season tickets to both sports. They should not have to choose.

Way to go, genius- they forgot about the water fountain. Thanks to your post they'll be charging $2.00 a drink after they frisk everyone in the fountain line.

3. Well i'm sure there are more but those are the best
Gee i thought the University looked stupid before but after todays letter in the Sentinel, the univeristy looks more stupid!![]()
the lady who wrote the letter says she ain't buying season tickets next year and honestly i don't blame her!
If you're not smart or clever enough to hide the bottle of water from a security guard then you probably shouldn't go to the game...

I was under the impression that unopened water bottles were ok.
Are the rules posted online anywhere?
I don't know about filling the place up, but I am another one who thinks there would be more tickets sold if there were children's tickets and a real General Admission area. (Did I say that in a positive manner?)

Re: Way to go athletic department or whomever!
If this woman thinks that the Stroh Center, because of a few security people, is the most awful place she has ever been, then I truly don't know what to say. I have had my purse checked at Michigan Stadium, Freedom Hall in Louisville, Quicken Loans Arena, Comerica Park and Progressive Field (just to name a few) and never thought twice about it.
I don't understand why people think a letter to the sports editor of the Sentinel-Tribune is the way to approach an issue they have with someone in the athletic department of the University. Last time I checked they all had phones and email...whenever I have a question/concern that is how I handle it. But then, I also was brought up to have common sense, along with my degree.
