A standard that was established by the previous staff, including Roos, was not met this year. Justified based on injuries or what-the-hell ever else, it's a legitimate question worth asking. This is a league where the likes of Bob Lindsay (and even Ehlen before him) get fired for not living up to the expectations they themselves created.
I'm glad Coach Roos wants to embrace the challenge. Part of that is dealing with us crazy fans who have the wacko, unrealistic expectations for our team to not lose by 30.
When expectations and standards are not attained, the answer should not be "The league has changed...it was inevitable we'd drop...we had injuries...blah blah blah." It should be "We didn't meet our team goals and are doing everything in our power to rectify this and get back to winning championships."

A legitimate question? Perhaps. But to compare this past season to both Bob Lindsay and Mark Ehlen is quite misleading. They both had numerous (more than 1) seasons where they didn't meet the high expectations they created for their programs. Injuries did play a role in the inconsistent season we had. Jazz being out was the biggest one. You don't take away your best on ball defender on the perimeter and not hurt the team. She was also another offensive, outside shooter that opposing teams would have had to account for. I'm sure the coaches and the players would be one of the first to say they didn't meet their goals this season. They are all competitors who don't like to lose. I fully expect the returning players to work really hard in the off season to get better. Does anyone remember the 2008-09 team who lost to Ball State in the finals of the MAC Tournment? They used that loss as motivation for the next year. They didn't want to feel that way again. They then went out and won the next 2 MAC Tournaments. Our season isn't over. I fully expect to get a bid to the WNIT. Hopefully we will host at least one game (maybe more) at the Stroh Center. Let's all come out to support our Falcons. They certainly deserve it. Let's show our appreciation for their season whild dealing with a great deal of adversity. 22-10 was our worst record since 2004-5....IF that is our worst, I'll take it. We scorched Dayton by 25 as well. Seriously, some folks need to take a deep breath. We will be fine under Coach Roos. Now, lets win the freakin WNIT!
