Dominant performance by the women last night. For those that didn't make it, this was a very physical game in the first half. Allison Day, in particular, was absolutely battling underneath and it started to get chippy in 2nd and 3rd quarters. The refs got a little aggressive with the foul calling at the end of the 3rd and 4th and really changed the flow of the game. In my opinion, if they had allowed them to continue to play, BGSU would have one by 20+.
Full credit to Coach Fralick. She created a game plan that completely frustrated Toledo and our Falcons executed it perfectly. Toledo looked completely confused by our defense and frequently couldn't get good shots. I've seen Jocelyn Tate play up and down this season but last night she put on a show on both sides of the ball.
Just an awesome performance. There is no doubt who the #1 team in the league is now. Really praying Sharps knee injury is something she can return from this year.

It was a great game that I couldn't watch. Thanks ESPN. Subscription canceled today. I think I got to see two games for my $20 fee...almost like going to the Stroh Center
Unless something else happens, there is no TV scheduled for the rest of the season anyway. I actually liked the Youtube arrangement.

Really sucks that ESPN+ was broken to start the game last night.HoopsFan wrote: ↑Thu Jan 19, 2023 2:03 pm It was a great game that I couldn't watch. Thanks ESPN. Subscription canceled today. I think I got to see two games for my $20 fee...almost like going to the Stroh Center

There will certainly be more "TV" games the rest of the way, though. They typically just throw that information up late, but 15 of our 17 games so far have been on either ESPN3 or ESPN+, and I would imagine the rest of the games will be that way, as well. Saturday's game against Kent State is on ESPN3, for example.

The picture in the Toledo Blade sports section, Page C-3 (1/19/23), tells it all. TSUN player has her arms holding Brett so she can't move to rebound. It's bad enough that coaches like Cullop and her staff teach players to hold, grab, scratch, punch and hack on every play, but it's worse that the incompetent referees don't see it--although this crew did call a lot of fouls.

Saw a lot of BG players taking hard falls. I saw Sharps on crutches, what about any others, specifically Tate. She was essentially carried off the court twice. Velasco, Fleming and Hemfling(sp?) might need to add some minutes. Nice to have 3 players like that coming off the bench.

Agreed, certainly don't want to see any player lose time to injury but Hempfling will be able to step in and produce. She played well last night in limited minutes.Siborg wrote: ↑Thu Jan 19, 2023 4:22 pm Saw a lot of BG players taking hard falls. I saw Sharps on crutches, what about any others, specifically Tate. Tate kept cramping. When it happened a second time, the game was pretty much in hand and they kept her on the bench. I'm guessing she is fine.
