Metz, you're right I havn't visited any coaches other than Brandon (which was by complete mistake when I ran into him at the SRC) this year so there is that one extra step to take. That much effort is extremely valliant, however also futile, as you found out, and you are completely right, everyone is just too damn lazy. BTW, my Friend Dawn would like an Animals shirt if you've got an extra medium lying around...

Hopefully you realize I wasn't meaning that in a negative way. I'm glad you tell your friends and spread the word...word of mouth is the best promotion out there. Just throwing ideas out there.

i will pretty much guarantee that there will be a very large student section this saturday v. Ohio. most of my friends that dont go to most basketball games are going for the simple fact of how good Ohio was last year and all the hype they had going into this year. needless to say im pumped for that game and hope BG can pull it out. GO FALCONS!!!!!!!!!

Metz, I didn't take it in a negative way, and one more friend of mine was hoping he could get an animals shirt. I'll bet you don't have a 2x on hand but if you get a chance to get it to me or him at one of the games that would be great. See you Wednesday.

I'm worried that since there is a hockey game at 5:05 the same day how many people will come to the basketball game. It seems like we always get a better turnout for hockey games, so I think that could hurt this game's attendance because people are lazy and won't want to go to 2 games that day. I'll be at both, and let's home lots of people decide to go to the doubleheader.

Well, the hockey game this week is pretty meaningless. RIT isn't even inside the conference, so its not like it matters if we win or lose. Ohio though, in men's basketball, that matters a ton. Way more importance on that game than the hockey game.

However, both of those games pale in comparison to how big the game vs EMU is Wednesday night.

No doubt. Like I said before, this is a rare opportunity to try and get people hooked on BG women's basketball. This is going to be a fun, exciting, fast paced game between two very very talented teams who are both undefeated in conference. EMU has owned us recently until we beat them in the MAC tourney last year, and our players really don't like them.

Combine that with the fact that we are trying to maintain the nation's 6th longest home winning streak (14), and you've got all the makings of a classic at AA. It would be a shame to not have the biggest crowd (esp. students) of the year on hand. Keep on spreading the word students.

My keys to the game:

1. Execute on offense
2. Limit their post game, they're looking for mismatches to post, so the guards will have to stop their bigger guards(Coleman) from beating us on the block
3. Stay out of foul trouble, we'll need all our key pieces on the floor to beat this team
4. Everyone chips in, i think we need more than just the usual Ali/Liz/Kate/Carin scoring...we need also need the rest of the rotation to add some buckets to keep the pressure on EMUs D.
5. DEFENSE DEFENSE DEFENSE!

Go BG!

To all prospective hecklers. Nikki Knapp does not like to be referred to as "Cankles" while she's on the foul line. Ryan "Headband" Coleman is pretty ghetto-fabulous but she's tough to rattle. Eastern is 11-2 with her in the lineup. This team is just as tough, talented, experienced, and deep as we are.

If I had to list a couple keys....

1) Do not settle for threes. We need to attack the basket as well as the offensive glass and get some fouls on their bigs, Knapp and Ulker.

2) Rebound Rebound Rebound. Whoever wins the rebounding battle will win this game. EMU loves to crash the boards. This leads to number 3...

3) Transition game. We need to outlet fast and break before EMU's very tough half court defense can get set up.

The crowd will be huge (as in important -- hopefully in size as well). A loud and vocal crowd rattled EMU last year, and helped us get back in the game in the second half. We didn't win, but we'll need the crowd to be loud and rowdy to help the team get over the top.

WRONG!!! This hockey game means a lot for a number of reasons!! Go to the hockey forum and read the thread on RIT and you will see why. Grrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!

Talk about apathy......sheeeesh!!!

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Freak, aren't you starting to feel a little ill? It could build til about 1pm and you could still make it to BG for the football program and the women's basketball game!
