1.) This was my first trip to the JAR. Contrary to the demands of the t-shirts, I didn't fear it, and nor was I impressed with it. I was expecting much more of it, especially given the architectural grandeur of the rec center right across the street. The fact that it sounded like a BG home game (GREAT fan turnout!), I'm sure, didn't help.
What did this shirt say? I agree the JAR didn't impress me either when I went for volleyball, kept saying TV makes this place look way better then it is
The shirts said "Fear the JAR!" A statement akin to "Fear the Roo!", another emotion that I have never felt before. What I kept saying was "I'll take the scoreboard, but give me Anderson!"
Their mascot does hold a small resemblance to Jar-Jar from the Star Wars series.

Great time last night. Captain New Year's Eve, Gary Glitter. That kid was just obnoxious at the start and kept screaming at Coach Miller like nobody's business. When the Falcons started pouring it on, well, you know what happened.

The whole BGSU "STD" and farmers jokes are so old. Get some new material. The whole "overrated" chant in the beginning was hilarious.

Oh well, I'll give the trouser snake credit for being there...along with the 6 other UA students.

One more thing. The JAR is pretty lame. I've been there many times for BG games and a few concerts and I've never liked it. They crank the heat up in the place to 90 degrees and it isn't fan friendly at all. And people rip AA? Please. AA blows the JAR outta the water. Add the $2.75 bottles of pop and water? I thought I was at OSU with those prices. LOL

Hey, as a fellow AZZ'er, and someone who knows Coach Kest, I would ask that you not make fun of her. She is a good lady, and she knows how to win. I never really though of her having a deep voice. She doesn't have the girly voice of most women, true, but it's not that bad. All of my conversations have been great with her. Who knows, I might end up on her staff someday. It's all about who you know in this business.

Heard you guys singing goodbye when listening, really didn't hear anything from the not so rowdies

Sorry to miss out on the kill with all my local Akron azzers.

Me and Logan stayed home in the Wads to watch what is now becoming tantamount to a future MAC all-star game with Cassie and Uhl.

They kept the Copley team around long enough to practice their full court press.

He was pretty aweful. He kept changing octaves to hit all the notes, then he'd change keys because he couldn't go low enough or high enough even with the octave changes. When he forgot the words, the whole crowd sang 'hailed' for him to help it along and get it over with.

I didn't get there until right at the opening tip, so I missed the anthem.

Niz, you really didn't offend me, I just wanted to make sure that this thread didn't become a coach bashing thread with Coach Kest. You're alright still in my book.

I'm impressed with what Coach Kest has done thus far in Akron. Even if it was a "weak" OOC schedule, it's good to play teams like Akron did in order to help build confidence. It's not easy to turn a perennial loser into a winner. She seems to have recruited some OK players. I have no doubt that she'll work hard to make Akron a competitive team.

Coach Miller is also very impressed by Kest. It's hard not to be, considering how awful that program has been. If they can win 5+ conference games this year, it would be a huge success and step forward for them.

There aren't many teams in the MAC that are good enough to stay within ten points of this BG team consistently. Maybe there aren't any with EMU and Kent a step down from the last couple years.

Kest and Miller were also assistants together at Cleveland State in the early 90's. They know each other well.
