It took me a while to recover from the trip, but now that I'm home--
WHAT A WEEKEND!

I am so happy for these players and coaches (and everyone else involved). They've worked so hard these last few years and to see it pay off like this is just amazing. They deserve every bit of success and attention that they've received.

I'd have to say my favorite moment is a tie between the seniors walking out together and the last few seconds of the game - Kate stood there with the ball on her hip, not attempting to even move, and Porchia Green just rolled her eyes and walked away. Then the ball was in the rafters, the buzzer was sounding, and they were celebrating like mad. Awesome.

I've pretty much decided I'm going to the NCAA game no matter where it is. It'll be tough to arrange, but I cannot miss this.

What an awesome game!!! I had a blast and am so glad that I was able to be there to see our team become 3-peat MAC tournament champions. It was really cool for me too because I was there with both of my sisters, and it was the first BGSU women's game for the youngest (her first of many....the other sister and I decided to get her hooked so she'll come to the games next year as a freshman). Secondly, being a senior, it was remarkable to see those seniors shine again and more importantly, to do it as a team. Seeing them walk arm in arm to get their medals is a testament to how much of a team they really are. While yes many people may just look at Ali Mann or Kate Achter, these girls believe in being a team and sharing. It was really awesome to see the smile on the girls' faces as the game wound down and then as the celebration began...priceless.

Another cool part was being part of such an amazing Falcon fan section. Even President Ribeau was there. From across the court, I could see his wife Paula cheering along. I loved seeing so much orange and brown....it made me so proud to call myself a Falcon. Also great cheering from the section of people around me and the section right next to our locker room. I saw some great signs...in particular I liked the "Ali Mann for Heisman". And if you want to get on TV, make a sign that says the channel's name in it...my sister did it (I held it) and we got on TV..all three of us. My parents were pretty proud. I've got pictures to post sometime, so hopefully I'll do that soon.

Now it's on to the NCAA. I hope for a close region so I can go, but if not, I'll be cheering the girls on in spirit. So as Kate said in an interview, "We've got one tournament down, and one more to go." GO FALCONS!!!

I agree. This BG team, IMO, is the best of all time. I took the Freaklings to the title game and rocked it with BGSU 96 & 99. BG had a TON of fans there. I told the boys on the way home to enjoy what we just saw cuz runs like these don't happen very much. They've been to four straight MAC title games. :-D I hate to say this but I almost got a bit bored in the 2nd half....like we've been here before so often and I expected us to win anyway. BG put the clamps down on the Cards...and that DeMuth was kind of a bitch. Watching the replay on FSN, it seemed like she was trying to hurt some of the BG players. By the end of the game, Liz and Ali were laughing at her and just shaking their heads.

Way proud of the team for taking on every challenge and succeeding again.

BG is now 101-24 the last 4 years...

BG is 57-6 in their last 63 games....FIFTY SEVEN AND FREAKING 6!!! Even Mt Union would have to say that is awesome. LOL

Coach Miller MAC COTY for the 3rd straight year.

A different Falcon has been named MAC title game MVP each of the last 3 years.

This is truly an awesome team that we'll never forget.

GO FALCONS!!! Time to do damage in the NCAA's!!!

I will say, the game was not only fun to watch because of our team, but also because of Tracy Roller. For being nearly 40, she's pretty easy on the eyes.

And totally a MILF.

Just wondering, what was the technical called on the Ball state bench for?

From what I could tell and heard from the FSN broadcast, she was mouthing off to the ref. I couldn't tell what she was saying, but she was yelling right at the ref and apparently said something she shouldn't have. The broadcasters didn't know either, but they said it seemed to have been a very one-sided conversation, with Tracey doing most of the talking.

By the way, Freak I agree with you and would throw Corbin in the that catergory with DeMuth. She seemed like she was trying pretty hard to get our girls in trouble, and the Falcons just laughed it off. I love their attitudes.

I alluded to this earlier, and I will now expound upon the point - Ball State is a totally classless program. As I watched the pomp and circumstance with which they came out for their warmups, I started thinking to myself that something was not right. They came out and put on a ridiculous display for about five minutes that, I can only figure, was intended to portray their superiority. I can live with that, and I have seen that kind of thing at all levels of basketball, but as the game wore on it became pretty clear that the entire team had a pretty (unwarranted) egocentric attitude.

As I watched the game unfold it became pretty clear that this condescending attitude was imposed upon the team by Roller. That woman, attractive as she was, was a total mess. There were at least three distinctive points at which I felt she could have been T'ed up that she wasn't. One was jawing at the refs about an out of bounds call, another was throwing her clipboard on the court, quite audibly, in response to some miscue by her team, and the last was her pounding the scorer's table (literally!) demanding a three second call - which she got. She finally got her technical for jawing at the refs late in the game, but by rights, she should have been ejected long before that.

What was even funnier, in my opinion, was that Roller's team, even with the swagger and the attitude, was probably the most undisciplined team I have ever witnessed in person. I don't know if anyone else noticed this, but there were several instances in which BSU's players were literally yelling at each other on the offensive end. At one point two girls (I can't remember which) threw the ball back and forth trying to convince the other to take control. Were it not for the individual talent on that team, they wouldn't be crap under Roller. They have no identifiable defensive or offensive system and the players do not play as a team in any sense of the term. It was quite gratifying to see our girls, despite the defections and injuries, bury BSU because of the dominance of a team concept and good coaching.

There is absolutely no place in this sport for people like Roller. If she wants to convince her players that they are better than everyone else simply because they play for her, then perhaps she should try her hand at the professional level. Perhaps this stuff might fly in the SEC or the Big 12, but certainly not in the MAC. Sure, the MAC has never been the best conference, but I would like to think that we have been able to preserve our sense of class throughout the years. People like Bob Lindsay have done a hell of a lot for this conference without resorting to the crap that Roller seems to be trying to pull, and it is ashame that, based on the reactions of the officials on Saturday, she seems to be getting away with it.

I'm sure someone is going to say that she was just jacked up because it was a championship game and that is not Roller's style, but I would argue that my account doesn't do her actions justice. It was amazing to watch her actions and those of her team. I have no respect at all for that kind of garbage, no matter how many wins a team has.

I also thought she was attractive! When she pounded the score table, I almost started to laugh. Then my wife said she could probably beat me up. Of course the smart AZZ that I am, I told her I would probably like that.

My wife and I got a real kick out of watching her the entire game. She was out of control and so was her team. I think she is entertaining, so Ball State is a perfect place for her. I would go see BG play them again.

The seeding tonight will be interesting. Anywhere from a 5 to an 8 would make some sense -- the latter because of our injuries, which I think tournament committees tend to take into account.

I'd love a second round matchup with Ohio State -- and I hope there is a second round in this team's future. The injuries make me nervous.

We are, as Miller might say, underdogs from here on out, no matter what the seed.

Agree on all points. I still think we deserve a 6 seed. But we all know what the committee usually thinks the MAC "deserves".

I can't wait to see where BG plays tonight. GO FALCONS!!

Something to keep in mind from Creme. I'm not concerned about the actual seed. Its winning the games that matter. A 5, 6 or 7 is splitting hairs to me.
Matchups matter, not seeds. This really pertains to the time after the selections are announced and you begin figuring out whether your team can make a deep run. Don't get caught up in arguing whether Bowling Green, for example, should be a 5- or a 6-seed. Look more at the matchups in the first and second rounds to determine the Falcons' chances to advance through the field. It's great fun to argue about seeds as the season progresses. It's especially fun this weekend and into Monday. But once the field is set, be happy if your team has a good matchup, regardless of the number in front of the name. A sixth seed closer to home or against a team with suspect guard play is far more vital than the prestige of a higher seed.

So their coach is a hot-head, the team is undisciplined on both ends of the court and their pre-game introduction/warm-ups were weirdly elaborate and that equates to "totally classless"? That sounds a little bit harsh to me.

Go BG!

Let's win a few in the NCAAs!
