Maybe improved seeding as well. Its tough to be a 11-13 seed each year and expect to win anything.

It's possible that this run combined with Christopher leading the committee next year will help the MAC break out of the one-bid rut.
That would be great if it happened....this year, MAC Women's hoops was very strong and more than one team deserved serious consideration.

Unfortuantely, next year the MAC will probably be much more competitive but with fewer strong teams as EMU loses a bunch, BGSU loses a bunch and only UT, and maybe Central?,among the top teams looks to be better. With more conference losses spread around teams like EMU and BG will struggle to get enough wins to impress anyone BUT Christopher. As great an AD as he is he'll have a hard time making a case for two MAC entries.

Do not count out this BG team. Steffen will fill the role of LP. I think Havel will be strong in the post. We have a transfer from Duke. Stein showed glimpses of promise. Slagle will be a stronger version of Kate Achter, imo. And we have great guards coming in. We may not be as deep on our bench but I see another divisional title.

There are lots of unknown quantities on the BG bench for '11-'12 season..........let's keep it under our feathers.......let others wonder. :) Always the same goals---win division, over-all, tournament, NCAA berth & some wins there.....just one game at a time......I'm still enjoying seeing all but 4 of this season's games. 8-)
Good luck to Blue & Gold...... will be at Final 4 in Indy. :D

Well, the season comes to a screeching halt. Rockets smoke USC and win the whole kit and caboodle. Naama is the Tournament MVP with 28 points in the Final. Half. 40 for the game. Yolanda Richardson also makes the all-tournament team. 7,301 get to watch. LOUD!!! And the next best thing was I got yet another opportunity to watch Michael Cooper lose (I hate the Lakers!).

Winner....we kept track via texts & email while in Indy getting autographs from Final 4 players

Thanks to Blue & Gold for showcasing what the MAC is about.

h2oville rocket.....what did your daughter say to them?! Feed the point guard she's going to burn the nets off!
Hope it was a fun happening

Congrats to the Rockets! It was a very entertaining game, watching a PAC 10 team, coached by a former NBA player get its lunch handed to them. UT did the MAC proud.... but I sure wish Naama was a Sr.....Damn! did she do a number on the Trojans or what?

I know it's always hard to root for UT in anything, but they deserved this win big time, even though I began to wonder late in the game if they were gonna blow it...too many fouls and resultant clock stoppage. But when your PG runs around and through the defense, it didn't happen.
Education our Challenge, Excellence our goal. (look it up)

Quote: "I told them to box out but most of all confuse the defense"! I think Naama was paying attention! Sam ran down on the court and was hugging Melissa Goodall who grabbed her and pulled her into the team picture-haven't seen any (video, I think-didn't see any still cameras) yet on it- they keep cutting off just as they get to Sam. I'm sure we'll find something on youtube. Unbelievable energy and I'll let it die here because I know this is the Falcon board but let me just say "Thanks" to all those wishing us well!

Next year could start tomorrow as far as I'm concerned.

Great run by the Rockettes...don't care f they lost $$$$ by hosting the games (I know they didn't, H2O) the cache and momentum a post season run like that generates would have been worth it.

Memo to Beckman: That's how you finish a game in the postseason.

Great victory for the Lady Rockets, you did the MAC proud. Nice season for the BG girls as well, maybe next year you can get past the one game and out in the NCAA :supz:

Glad the game was on CBS College Sports channel yesterday. The crowd at ut looked GREAT and to see a MAC school win the WNIT was cool. Wichita State won the men's NIT so if Butler can take down Uconn, only the women's NCAA won't have a "mid major" as the winner. Although, I don't know if I consider Butler a mid major anymore. They and Gonzaga have proven themselves to be major players of the last decade.

+1
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."
