Awesome!!! I heard that we were down by a bunch in the first half, but I wasn't worried that much. Let's face it, its impossible to get worried about this team, because losing is not in their vocabulary. This team makes plays down the stretch, they come together and play tough defense for 40 minutes, and they play smart basketball.
Just compare this team with the men's team. If the men's team falls down by more than 5 points at any point in the game, or are behind at all in the final 5 minutes, the game is lost. That team is the opposite of our women, they do just about everything they can to shoot themselves, missed free throws, not boxing out, traveling (thanks, Floyd

), poor shot selection. Our women don't do anything like that. Occasionally they'll get a bit trigger-happy from deep early on in the game. If it turns out they aren't making them they might get behind early, like they did today. However, Curt Miller has these girls so well coached, they'll just start attacking the basket, get the other team in foul trouble and start cutting the lead until they get ahead again. It always works. Get set folks, because this team is going to go deep into the field come NCAA's.

The men have actually come from behind several times when down by more than five points.

Yeah, they've come back from big deficits against Akron, Ohio, and some other teams. Have they won any of those games? No. Thus, your point is irrelevant.
Another point is, our women have won big game after big game this season. They won at Kent State, they won at home against Eastern Michigan, they beat Ball State today. What has our guys team done? Well, they did beat Kent State on the road, but as more recent games have suggested, that was a fluke. Kent must have been looking past us that night, resulting in the loss. Since that game, we've lost badly at Miami, lost to Akron and Ohio at home, and barely squeaked by EMU in a game that we tried desperately to throw away at the end. I'm sorry, I don't want to talk badly about our men, but facts are facts people, they just aren't very good.

While that may be true - let's try to keep the post-women's-win-men's-team-bashing to a minimum if we could please.
Another great win for the women. I only got to listen to the first four minutes of the game as I had about 84 errands to run today. It sounds like we got behind early and came back as usual. For anybody that listened to the game -- did the momentum swing once we started attacking or did we just start hitting shots?
While assuming is dangerous, we should breeze by everyone in the East save Kent. An undefeated conference record is well within our reach. I guess it was pretty stupid of me to predict 2 conference losses. I'm an idiot.

I'm not going to bother to address this, because I have gone to AA, 2 times. If only you and I didn't know each other so well...
Anyway, there's only one game left on the schedule before the MAC tournament that I feel is loseable for the lady falcons, barring a major upset. That game is two weeks from Wednesday when Kent State comes to AA. If the Lady Falcons defend home court there, it should be smooth sailing to a 27-2 pretournament mark. I'm very interested to see where BG will be ranked in this week's ESPN/USA TODAY top 25.

because you ridicule a team even tho you never watch them play, you cant even acknowledge the fact that even tho we dont have any where close to the best talent in the conference, but you cant acknowledge the fact that they play their hearts out very time they touch the court and that is a reflection of the coach. yes maybe they have some lapses in games but they are ALWAYS in the game at the end, and thats all you can ask for right? A chance to win it at the end? now we dont win our fair share of them and thats a point i know your going to harp on that point, but we have chances and they will eventually start going our way. Now there isnt that much left in the season, if we can start catching any sort of breaks, we will be a dangerous team in the tourney, you cannot deny that.

Can we please keep the mens talk in the mens forum please. This should be a thread praising the womne for winning another game in a great season so far, and that's where it should end. I know what 24 was trying to refer to, but this thread or forum is not where it should be. The women are doing a great job of representing all that is good with BG athletics, and that is all that should be talked about here.

Back to the question asked above about what turned the tide against Ball State-from what I heard, it seemed like they really turned up the defensive pressure. It sounded like they started to pressure Ball State and got them to make some poor decisions with the ball.
Ball State's coach in some post-game comments said that BG didn't beat them, they beat themselves. Yeah, right. The defense had nothing to do with it!
