We get a snippit on ESPN's scoreboard. The one from Wednesday reads:

"Falcons flex defensive muscle in drubbing Zips"

I love it.

In related news, A lot of ranked teams have lost this week, a couple very badly.

#23 Texas A&M got blown away by 25 by Baylor Wednesday. #19 New Mexico lost to unranked Wyoming by 7 the same night.

#20 Boston College lost by 27 to #4 Maryland Thursday. I don't know how much that will drop them if at all. #13 Georgia, #16 Minnesota, and #12 Stanford all lost to ranked teams also on Thursday. That won't immediately help us, but the more losses in front of us the better.

#22 Temple has a tough game with St Joe's tonight. Hopefully some of these losses will help us climb a spot or 2 in the rankings.

From what I've noticed, losses to higher ranked teams tends not to cause much, if any drop in rankings, especially if other similarly ranked teams also lose. Probably the most relevant loss for us to move up is NewMexico.

Another big win tomorrow, and I hope they move up one or two more spots in ESPN, and maybe another 20 votes in AP (I don't think the AP will rank them)

Agreed. I'm wondering if the fact that A&M got destroyed might drop them a bit. A&M also plays at #9 Oklahoma tomorrow. A 2-loss week would make it hard for them to stay ranked. Maybe we can jump 2 spots depending on this weekend's games.

Sidebar -- I notice ESPN has our home record as 10-1? Are they counting the neutral court loss to Delaware as a home loss? I think we were designated the "home" team, but I didn't know that is counted against your home record. I wonder how ESPN thinks we have the third longest home court winning streak in the country with a loss this year

If A&M loses tonight, they will drop out of the rankings, and New Mexico might be dropped out also. I can atleast see us jumping ahead of them in the poll. BC might fall pretty hard with the way the lost their game. If BG wins big today, they have a very real possibility of making it into the AP, but we'll see. One game at a time, and the rest will take care of themselves.

exactly. and i believe that's what coach miller said the other night. something to the effect of being ranked is nice, and it's a nice recognition, but it's nothing over which the team has control. all that you can do is take care of business on the court for two hours, and if you do that, the recognition, accolades, and rankings will come.

A&M got pasted again tonight, and #18 BYU lost to unranked Wyoming.

23rd or 24th seems likely this week.
