2/20 Rankings
the Ladies are definitely moving up in the eyes of the AP. Today they recieved 69pts, and are 26th. 25th place Texas A&M has 80 pts. The next to closest teams are UK and Indiana State with 39.

I'm kind of shocked to see A&M still in the poles. They lost two games this week, and they weren't even close games. I understand that they played Baylor and Oklahoma, and that those two are very good teams, but no way do they deserve to still be in the top 25. If they could have kept at least one of those games close, then I could see the reasoning for it. But I guarantee that if BG wins both games this week, they will be in the top 25 in both polls.

Beat me to it. At least they will fall out of the coaches poll.HoustonFalcon wrote:I'm kind of shocked to see A&M still in the poles.
Man the game on Wedneday is huge for us. A win gets us ranked in both polls, perhaps getting close to our highest ranking ever, as well as almost assures us of an undefeated conference mark and another trip to the tourney. On the other hand, a loss knocks us out of the polls for the rest of the year, and puts all kinds of pressure on us to win the MAC tourney or be relegated to the NIT.

Making it into the USA Today poll turned heads. People looked, and were probably surprised they hadn't noticed Bowling Green before. Say what you want about the MAC, going undefeated in it is a heck of a credential.PGY Tiercel wrote:I agree with your assesments. it looks like they have really turned some heads to jump from 13 to 69pts.
In fact, its only been done four times since league play started in 1981-82:

We would crush Texas A&M.HoustonFalcon wrote:I'm kind of shocked to see A&M still in the poles. They lost two games this week, and they weren't even close games. I love the confidence, but we are not head and shoulders above MSU. They are a better team than us. It's not by much, but they are a very good team. We would have a lot of trouble rebounding and staying out of foul trouble against those girls. They are definitely beatable, as is Texas A&M, but we are not a lock to crush either of them. MSU played terribly last night. If they play like that, and we shoot well, we could win by double digits. But if both teams play their best game, we would need some lucky bounces to pull it out.

A&M lost to the #9 and #13 ranked teams in the country. If they lose another this week then they'll probably drop down to about #30.HoustonFalcon wrote:I'm kind of shocked to see A&M still in the poles. I also think that going into next year, we may have a significant amount of hype surrounding the team, kinda like how football did for this past season. This is especially true if we go deep into the NCAA tournament this year, people around the country are going to take notice to us a bit, and when they see that we have all the key players back next year, the expectations and the hype nationally could be much bigger than it has been this year. The Niz wrote:Until we start getting some better competition in our schedules the polls really aren't gonna show us any respect. However, having that lack of respect going into the tournament can be an extreme advantage, one I am very interested to see if it works in the next few weeks.
