Now correct me if I'm wrong but if BG beats kent st. the Falcons win the East and clinch the #1 seed right? Anyone know if we'll be cutting down the nets after the victory for winning the MAC regular season? I would really like to see that. Either way it's a big game on wednesday with it being the last home game and senior night. Hope to see a big crowd, let's rock AA!

We don't clinch the #1 seed if Eastern wins. We'd still only be up 1 on them with 2 to play. We would clinch the West though.

If we don't get 2,000 people there, I will be a very sad panda.

Which would be quite the impressive feat in itself, of course.

Don't feel bad, J4H... I noticed today on Antonio Daniels' site one of the poll options for "How will the Wizards do this year" is "Western Finals".

So, unless you're the webmaster for AD.com, you're not alone...

Alright....I'm here for my usual BG key's to victory:

1. Match their intensity and physical play.
Kent is gonna come out wanting to get BG back for their loss a few weeks back. Couple that with Kent being without a doubt the most physical team in the MAC...we're going to need to be ready to match Kent from the opening tip.

2. Slow them down Inside
Shearer (sp?) is one of the best posts in the MAC. She's gonna get her points, but we need to make them earn those buckets. Make her play on both ends, she can't guard Ali when she faces up and Liz can pull her away from the lane. Getting their posts in foul trouble would be amazing, but as long as we make them work to get touches, and force them to play us from baseline to baseline, we can win the battle inside.

3. Get it and GO
If theres anything that we have a distinct advantage in is that we can run them right out of the gym. If we want to get our transition game going, we gotta control the glass and force turnovers. Not letting them set up on D and dig in with their physical play can help us out ALOT, this honestly might be one of the biggest keys to the victory.

4. Protect the Home Court
Good teams don't lose at home. We should have that place packed and buzzing from the time the team takes the court. They most certainly deserve it. Get a win and send a message to Kent State going into the MAC tournament, we are the best team in the MAC when we play to our potential. Finally, get a win for the Seniors. Jill and Casey are 2 big pieces of this team, and they should end their Falcon careers at Anderson with a big victory.

GO FALCONS!

My vote is that this team cuts no nets until an NCAA berth is secured. Cutting down a net implicitly denotes a major accomplishment, and the way this team is playing right now, winning the MAC regular season title simply does not qualify as a major accomplishment (this is a good thing, folks!).

What matters now is winning out the rest of the way - maintaining our ranking into the tournament in Cleveland and then in the NCAA's. Once we have won the tourney title, nets be damned!

It is so exciting to watch all of this unfold - even from thousands of miles (and a poor WBGU feed) away! :D

I hear ya sville. This game is big, and if we win it for all intents and purposes we are queens of the MAC Conference and headed to NC's. I know there's some questions as to whether we can make NC's as an at-large, but with a win we ensure we will be the #1 overall seed, making it nearly impossible for us to lose until the conference championship game. I've said over and over again, at 27-3, I dare the NCAA selection committee to destroy the legitimacy of their tournament by not taking us.

I guess I'm not as PC as I thought, because that line brought to my mind an image of the Village People.

Which reminds me, we're all meeting at the Blue Oyster Bar for the post game celebration, right?
