Wow, nice way to open up the season! Does anyone know how good Virgina is. Based on name recognition I would think fairly decent. Boy, how long has Liz Vrabel and Gina Rango been here?

Actually, they beat "Virginia." I covered UVa softball before I moved to baseball several years ago. Virginia usually has a decent softball team. This year they are playing under a new head coach. They are 2-2 with three games already againt MAC teams. They beat Akron and lost to Miami & BG. They usually finish in the middle of the ACC and have flirted with making some NCAA appearances. But this was a very nice win to open the season for BG.

The team picked up a 2nd win on saturday, deafeting Chattanooga 3-2 in 9 innings
