There was a chat with the women's bracketologist today. A couple of questions regarding BG got answered. Charlie right now has us as a steady 12 seed playing MSU in Denver.

Charles (Columbus, OH): Hey Charlie. I am a student at OSU, and I know how good are team can be when they play to their potential, but I have been impressed with another in-state school, Bowling Green. 15 straight wins, 24-2 overall, and only lost both games by 4 points each, one of them Kentucky in OT. They were in the NCAA's last year, can this be a sleeper team, a Sweet 16 team.

Charlie Creme: (2:06 PM ET ) Bowling Green is an interesting case because, honestly, I don't know how good they are. The schedule is terrible. 15 of those 24 wins have come against teams below 150 in the RPI. That doesn't give us much of a measuring stick




Ryan (Bowling Green, OH): BG comes for the MAC, I agree, and only 4 decent teams in the conference, but BG has played some programs tough, including KY, and gave Kansas State all it could handle last year. IF BG would fall in MAC tourney, will a 25-3, 26-3, or even 27-3 record be good enough

Charlie Creme: (2:22 PM ET ) I think it will still be good enough, but it better not be an early loss just to be sure. The MAC's RPI is better that the WCC's of a year ago and BG's RPI is higher than Gonzaga's, but remember what happened to the Zags losing in the semis last year. Unbeaten in the league during the reg season and 27 wins or something like that and they were left out. I wouldn't take too much for granted if I were BG just to be safe.

it's good to see some people asking him questions about BG. I sent him an e-mail for his "Bracketology Mailbag" I hope he responds

Hmm, interesting answer to that 2nd question. If the RPI is on our side (at last check we were 47th in the RPI) then that's a plus. Obviously if we were to lose to somebody like Fuffalo in the quarterfinals of the MAC tournament, that would put a huge question mark into the mix, but even then I think we'll still be okay unless the game is a blowout. Seeing as the ladies just don't lose, we'll probably win the MAC tournament anyhow.

If going 27-2 or 28-2 and winning the MAC tourney only gets us one seed higher than last year I will be upset. I know a twelve seed is not a bad place to be as far as upsets go and the road is much tougher in second round games for seeds 7-10 but it would be nice to have the luxury of going 27-3 and not have to sweat it out.

According to this douche, we are now 41 in the RPI. Of course, he has us as a falling 12 seed while having the 5th longest win streak in the country so I'm not sure he can even count.

Is Fuffalo some NAIA team? I agree that a loss to someone like that would be crippling.

Also the thing is the team is ranked, no ranked team should be a 12 seed, no matter the conference. From these projections, if we stay ranked it, looks like it could be a top-25 matchup in the first round, and that shouldn't happen

The douche from cstv now has us as a rising 10 seed all of a sudden. I really don't think this guy knows what's going on. I would be a liitle disappointed to see us get up to a 10 seed (Although the recognition would be sweet). That puts us with a monster in the second round. It's OSU in this guy's world. That would be a very tall order.

Assuming we went off the rankings, a 6 ranking is to be expected.

Remembering that we're in the MAC, 10 if we're lucky.

I would LOVE to see us face OSU in the tournament. That would be one awesome encounter, win or lose.

I don't want any part of OSU...or any other 1-2 seed for that matter. At that point you're in the upper echelon that we would need some luck to beat. I'm all for a 12-13 seed which would give us the easiest path to the sweet 16. At this point -- I think we're 10-11 if we win the MAC tourney, 12-13 if we don't.

CollegeRPI has BG has a 10seed, playing VT in their newest bracket. Unfortunately with a win, they would end up playing OSU in that version. I agree with you, meeitng up with a 1-3 in the second round isn't the best of scenarios

Does Jerry Palm do that one too? I think VT and OSU is the same draw as Palm's cstv bracket.
