my hoover vikings snapped cleveland jfk's 21 game winning streak by beating them 78-47, setting up a regional championship with uhl's wadsworth team that beat mentor 49-38.
the game is friday night at the canton civic center. while i wish the future falcon the best of luck, i still have to say go vikings!

Well in that case....It's WAR.
GO Grizzlies GO!!!!
First I have to hear about Freak and his history lesson of the sandy Valley league, now this North Canton stuff!
Wasn't the last time these two schools met this far into playoffs about fall of 2003, and wasn't NC up big at halftime before a raging Grizzly comebacK*?
Ah yes it was! But hopefully this will be a Great game.might be there too.
* one sad footnote, that comeback was powered by a QB who will be vying for Bruce's starting job this fall.

yeah yeah yeah, but girl's basketball is a whole different story.
hoover football, in my lifetime save for the 1984 loss to st francis because of a missed kick by one of the logan kids, means in most cases, 7-10 regular season wins a year, and a loss in round 1 or 2 of the playoffs.
it's been a few years since hoover won a state title. 2006 sounds like a good year.

Sandy Valley League stuff again, Swoop? You better do a little research on the Dover Tornadoes in football and boy's hoops.

Today's PD:
Uhl scores 23, grabs 11 boards and blocks five shots as Wadsworth beats No. 5 Hoover 71-49 and advances to state. They'll play either Amherst or Solon, who play today, on Friday at Value City.

uhl scored 8 of wadsworth's 30 first quarter points. the vikings didn't come ready to play, and the grizzlies sure did.

And for those Columbus-based Azzer's who wish to see the recruiting pipeline in action....Wadsworth plays Solon (I think) on Friday night at 8.
Go Grizzlies!

Jen was yesterday named to the AP All Ohio third team.
Great recognition for a junior!
