The Semi's............
Besides the rather large amount of fouls , it was a pretty good win by the ladies. We'll have to do a much better job of not fouling for UT or WMU. They both gave us fits those games.

EMU had 15 fouls, Ohio had 22.
Kent had 20 fouls, Ball State had 21.
We had the second fewest fouls of any of the teams so far. What are you talking about?

Re: The Semi's............
By total team fouls we did quite okay, its the amount of fouls on idivdual players like with Liz getting 4 fouls early in the 2nd half, I'm saying can't have a habit of that or we will be severly limited, not the end of the world but limited.Jacobs4Heisman wrote:BG had 19 fouls, NIU had 23.falconboy wrote:Besides the rather large amount of fouls , it was a pretty good win by the ladies. BTW, Liz had 17 points. I'll take her limited like that all day long.
Kate had 4 fouls too -- she was "limited" to 14 and 5 assists.
Maybe you meant Carin was limited with 3 fouls -- she had 13 pts, 7 boards, 2 blks, 3 assists, and a steal.
Once again -- what the hell are you talking about?

I understand that this doesnt seem like a big deal when we won by margin we did , but that won't get it done against WMU or UT or EMU. Yeah Liz had very nice numbers so did Kate and Carin but when certain players get 3 and 4 fouls early on in a game it limits what you'll be able to do defensively and offensively. Thank the Lord for Amber Flynn today.Jacobs4Heisman wrote:You said rather large amount of fouls. Against EMU, we had Carin, Ali and Kate in foul trouble. They combined for 46 points, 14 boards, 8 assists and 3 steals.
Against WMU, Ali and Carin had 3 fouls. They combined for 28 points, 8 boards, and 5 assists.
Liz and Kate fouled out at Kent State and we still won as they had 20 points, 15 boards, and 6 assists.
Against Kent at AA, Ali and Liz had 3 fouls. They ended with 31 points and 23 boards.
Every team has someone in foul trouble every game. Good teams can deal with it, and we're 26-2. Of course foul trouble makes it a little more difficult, but the point is you felt the need to find a negative lining to a double-digit win in the MAC tourney pushing us to 26-2. That's sad.

Yeah, so far it hasn't bit us yet and I hope it never does, but it still can when you least expect it if your not carefull. I'm just remaining optomiscticly guarded if that makes any sense at all.Jacobs4Heisman wrote:falconboy wrote:I understand that this doesnt seem like a big deal when we won by margin we did , but that won't get it done against WMU or UT or EMU. I would have to agree, there is no need to mention the foul situation as a factor in the game today, or how it might affect us later. 19 team fouls isn't really a huge amount of fouls to take, especially when you consider that the double bonus is made at 10. You see a lot of games where teams are in the double bonus at least once in a game. The only time I would consider 19 fouls any kind of trouble, it's when a lot of them come as shooting fouls. You say that it COULD be a problem, this team is 26-2 for a reason. They have had to deal with players getting into early foul trouble before this year. Maybe you are used to watching teams with only one or two good players, and they have to be on the floor for their team to be successful, but this team is different. I didn't look this up, but I am willing to bet that we had the most players of the week in the conference, but we didn't have any players of the year. It's called DEPTH, and it's what wins you championships. It's the reason that the girls have been so successful, and will continue to be. They won by double digits, while not playing that well in the first half from what I've heard on the offensive end. I am going to say GREAT WIN LADIES, GOODLUCK IN THE SEMIS. Trust me, just be glad that we are in the tournament. I would give anything for my team to be in our conference tournament this weekend, but we're not, and it sucks. So be grateful, and quit finding the negative on a win.

So you really have no idea why people give you such a hard time around here? Seriously, are you slow or something? seriously who gives a rats aZZ about the foul situation, we won the freaking game people!!! we couldnt buy a basket in the first half, but i knew that we were gonna run away with it in teh second half like we always do. We won by 12 people, it doesnt matter how many fouls who had, no one fouled out. Yeah Liz had 4 fouls but she also had 17 points and a lot of key baskets when we needed them. Ali played great defense and rebounded the ball marvelously. It was a great second half. We scored 16 points in the first half and ended up with 73...73!!! unbelievable to watch our ladies just turn it on like they did. it will be great to smack UT in the mouth on friday!!! ill be there on the floor right by the band to watch that. One of my best "friends" is in blue crew and itll be great to ask him and his idiotic looking buddies, "why so blue...blue crew?" haha GREAT WIN LADIES!!!!
