BG beats Toledo again....

Falcons win at home today, 1-0 in double OT. These two teams play extremely close games and BG has taken the last 3 each by the slimmest of margins. Sophomore Brianne Eisenhard scored the only goal of the game and BG earns a top 4 seed for the MAC Tourney. And guess who's coming to play BG? The Toledo Rockets. Last year BG beat UT, 3-2, in the regular season finale and then the teams played to a scoreless tie in the MAC Tourney. BG advanced by winning on penalty kicks. One would think the Rockets are due.

BG improves to 10-9, 7-4 MAC, and Coach Richards and staff have done a phenominal job with such a young team. BG played at least 6 NCAA qualifiers from the 2005 season this year. BG's roster consists of ONE SR, Lindsay Carter, 6 Juniors, 6 Sophomores and 11 Freshman. Coach deserves BiG time kudos for molding BGSU into one of the top MAC programs on a yearly basis. BG lost 7 starters from the 2005 MAC Champion team and only 4 returned. Seriously, excellent coaching job. Soccer Buzz rated last year's recruiting class as the MAC's best for the 2nd straight year.

Well, time to go out and BEAT TOLEDO again!

Sunday, Oct 29 @ 1:00 PM> BG VS. UT

GO FALCONS!!!!

Great point Freak. Coach Richards has done a masterful job in building and sustaining this program. We're lucky Krebs locked him up with a long contract before he left. The Iowa Hawkeyes took notice of our recruiting and hired away our assistant coach this past off season, who was promptly replaced with a head coach from the D-III level with a great reputation. The future is extremely bright for this program with great coaches and great players.

Exactly, Joe. I'm sorry I wasn't able to attend a game this year. I usually can make it to a game or two every season.

Time to REPEAT!!! GO FALCONS!!!
