Personally, I still think this is a joke... but progress is progress.

Here's hoping for a run through the MAC like last year to open the eyes of the blind.

Luckily, the committee pays more attention to numbers like the RPI and SOS than the obviously biased rankings. I was just happy to see us not drop at all after losing to duke.
BG is currently 11th in the RPI, with an SOS of 33. The MAC has also risen to #11 in conference RPI. Ball State looks like the "other" MAC team with only 2 losses and an RPI up to 36. Almost everybody's record is floating around .500, so it looks like the patsies from the last 5+ years have pulled themselves up a bit.
Without a loaded EMU or Kent team to get through, and having BSU at home, I like our chances of getting to the tourney unscathed. These seniors will keep everybody focused.

In regard to RPI estimates, it has been my experience and observation that http://www.collegerpi.com seems to be regarded as a much more accurate source than http://realtimerpi.com.
They have BG at 18. Not quite as sexy as 11, but still in a pretty darn good spot.
The conference as a whole has indeed performed much stronger than usual, which obviously is a good thing. If I had to pick a MAC game that scares me the most, it would be the @ NIU game followed closely by the @ OU game.

I realize rankings mean (next to) nothing... I'd just like to see these ladies get the due respect they've built the past three-plus years (and continued as well as anyone THIS year) shown more publicly.
Then again, I think that anyone who needs to be woken up to what the BG women's program has done isn't reading the women's polls anyway.

I belive so. Its going to be a long and slow rise in the rankings for our lady falcons as long we continue to win. I don't know if blowout wins helps your votes in these rankings or not but it could.Jacobs4Heisman wrote:Up to 19th in the coaches poll!

Yes, 19th is the highest a MAC team has ever been, though that was in the other poll. This is the longest streak of consecutive ranked weeks (if that makes sense) of any MAC school. Also, this is the 18th week a MAC school has been ranked in the USA Today poll. 15 of those 18, it's been BG and 11 of those 15 times for BG, it's been under Curt Miller.
