Maureen wrote a nice piece on Kate and Curt and the PG/Coach relationship and bunnies and rainbows and cotton candy... well, some of that.

I mentioned about 10 months ago that Kate was on the WNBA radar and I was met with a comment that she was too small. This article explains exactly why she's NOT too small to play in that league.

Unfortunately, in the last 10 months, things have changed....the GM who I tipped off about her and who fell in love with her immediately is no longer employed. Guess when you have Diana Taurasi and Penny Taylor for 3 seasons and still miss the playoffs, job security goes out the window. I still think she's going to have a Sr. season that is going to put her at the top of the list as far as PG's in the country. Time will tell.

Nothing would make me happier than to see Kate get drafted, buts its still probably a long shot. Far as her size , she's just a tad small, but her quickness and basketball intelligence might make up for it. I don't know what the average height for a WNBA PG is but I'll have to check it out.

the average height for a PG is around 5'7 or 5'8......but that's based on height listings by the teams which are all out of whack so if you are going to do a comparison, think of Kate as being about 5'9 1/2 because that's how she'd be listed.

Kate's size issue isn't her height...it's her weight. However, she NEVER gets injured and that removes any worries about that.

Her biggest obsticle is the conference she plays in. WNBA scouts and execs are just not interested in drafting people from non BCS schools unless they've been getting attention on a National level and Kate doesn't get that. Plus, there isn't exactly a stellar history of MAC draft picks in the league.

Great read on Kate and Coach Miller. Kate really is a an engine running the floor. Her intensity is matched only by Ali.
