BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Bowling Green State University women's basketball student-athlete Ali Mann has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District IV Team, it was announced Thursday (Feb. 8 ). Mann was chosen to the third team for the second-straight year.

The District IV team is made up of student-athletes from Division I schools in the states of Alabama, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Tennessee. To be nominated, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore, a starter or important reserve, and must carry a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher.

Mann, a senior, was one of five Mid-American Conference student-athletes named to the District IV team. She maintains a 3.49 cumulative grade point average as a supply chain management major.

On the court, Mann leads the Falcons with 16.3 points per game, and has scored in double digits in all 23 of BGSU's games this season. The Chelsea, Mich., native also averages 4.9 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game, good for second on the team in each category.

Way to go, Ali!

And, way to go, MAC. The Conference has some pretty stellar representation on that team.

Congrats Ali!! She was in my English 112 Honors class with me freshman year, so I know that some of her classes have been more challenging. It's great to see her succeed both in and out of the classroom.

It's been a real treat to watch her play here at BGSU. I think it's truly amazing that she's been able to compete at such a high level while doing so good with the book learning. I kind of struggled with that one
